Chapter 721: Post-match Press Conference

The press room was electric, reporters buzzing like vultures around Diego Simeone. With the match they had witnessed, the buzz was to be expected.

The reporters were eager to hear the coach's thoughts. They also wanted to listen to the opinion of the individual responsible for this outcome.

Takahashi Hiro- The man of the event, the man of the match, the most decisive individual.

Diego leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table. His gaze was as sharp as ever and his aura was unfathomable. He had a collected calm look on his face despite the earlier elation. Hiro was seated right next to Diego.

With his arms folded, he sat wearing a solemn expression on his face. Despite being the most prized individual at the moment, he had an aloofness around him that made it seem he wasn't bothered.

The room quietened as the press conference commenced.

A tall blond reporter from Marca spoke up first.

"Diego, this was a massive victory. How crucial was Hiro's performance tonight?"

He had a clear voice, and the texture of his voice was smooth. With his blue shirt tucked inside his white pants, he looked professional.

Simeone exhaled through his nose, a small smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.@@@@

It looked like he had been waiting for Hiro's mention all along. He couldn't be more obvious about his intentions.

"He's growing." His voice was low, calculated. "But growth means nothing if you don't sustain it. Let's see if he can keep up."

Even though he wanted to praise Hiro, he didn't want him to get self-conceited. He feared that the recent fame would get over his head. Though he knew Hiro well, he didn't want to overindulge him with fame.

He wanted Hiro to keep on striving and keep pushing. He wanted to unleash a beast out of him. Hence, he refrained from praising him, despite the urge to praise him.

The reporters murmured, already spinning their narratives.

Then, another journalist interjected. "Barcelona had the better possession, but you were more clinical. Was this part of the strategy?"

He had eyes that reflected years of experience.

Those eyes stunned the reporters and many felt perplexed. Hiro didn't attend many interviews. Even after delivering a match-winning performance, he avoided the spotlight for

some reason.

This behavior of Hiro was rather unusual.

While most players vied for the spotlight, he seemed to avoid it.

Hence, due to the lack of public appearances, Hiro had a rather mysterious aura around him. Even so, some of the reporters who had witnessed his gestures were aware of his personality. After a while, the reporters settled and the silence returned. The second phase of the press conference was about to begin.

The moderator then nodded to the first journalist.

"Hiro, your goal was nothing short of incredible. Can you walk us through what was going through your mind when you took that shot?"

Hiro leaned forward, elbows resting on the table, his expression unchanged.

"I saw the ball drop in front of me, and Araujo was right before me. I had two choices- either pass him or get passed by him. And I chose the former," Hiro's eyes glinted before he continued, "As for the second goal. I again had two choices- control it and risk getting closed down or trust my instinct. I chose instinct." His voice was calm, almost lazy. "And, well... you saw what happened."

A wave of acknowledgment rippled through the room. However, some of the reporters couldn't help but furrow their brows. They didn't like the way he talked.

It looked like he didn't even want to attend this interview.

This gesture of Hiro infuriated them. Yet still, they maintained their cool.

At the same time, some of the reporters found Hiro's gesture amusing. They couldn't help but laugh at his response.

"You've now scored crucial goals in both El Clásico and El Gran Derbi against Barcelona. People are calling you 'The Man for Big Games.' Do you feel any pressure living up to that

name?"

Hiro exhaled, tilting his head slightly. "Pressure?" He chuckled. "I don't feel pressure. I'm just here to play the game and I'll continue to do the same."
