Chapter 87 A carefree slip of the tongue reveals a secret
Picking up where we left off, Harry was about to drink the Polyjuice Potion containing Goyle's hair when Ron and Hermione stopped him in a panic.
Seeing this, Harry was puzzled and put down the Polyjuice Potion, asking, "Does my sister and brother have any other instructions?"
The two exchanged a glance, and Hermione spoke up: "Harry, let's drink Crabbe and Goyle's potion instead, since they're closer to Malfoy."
Harry's doubts deepened. "Why can't I drink it?"
"Oh, Harry, you should know that even Lady Helena, who died nine hundred years ago, didn't speak in a way as old-fashioned as you."
Ron nodded. "That's right, you gave yourself away as soon as you opened your mouth."
Harry exclaimed, "It's true what they say, those involved are often blinded, while bystanders see clearly. If it weren't for my older sister and brother's warning, I probably would have given myself away as soon as I entered that snake pit."
Having said that, he took the compound potion containing Pansy's hair and swallowed it all in one gulp. Ron and Hermione did not hesitate either; one ate Crabbe's and the other Goyle's.
The compound decoction flowed down their tongues and into their throats, the taste of which made Ron and Hermione scrunch up in disbelief.
The three waited quietly for a moment, and suddenly felt their blood vessels surging and churning under their skin, like boiling water.
Harry looked down at his arm, where the veins bulged like worms beneath the skin, and the muscles throbbed wildly, as if they were alive.
Immediately afterwards, his skin, flesh, and bones, like a deflated pig's bladder, slowly collapsed.
Harry felt dizzy; the scene before him suddenly seemed shorter, and everything around him seemed much taller. His robes suddenly felt loose, baggy, and much too big.
Once the rolling sound from inside his flesh stopped, Harry had transformed into Pansy.
"Ha! I knew it! Potions can never compare to natural ones!" Ron, who had transformed into Crabbe's appearance, was touching his body, unable to stop laughing.
"These muscles can't even compare to mine."
"Oh, let's not talk about this anymore." Hermione looked a little uncomfortable, tugging at her hakama. "Let's hurry up and go, curfew is coming soon."
The three of them each used a Transfiguration Charm to transform their Gryphon robes into Slytherin robes, then dragged Pansy and the other two into the storeroom and headed straight for the Slytherin common room.
Dear readers, please know that the Lion House's resting place and the Snake House's den are worlds apart.
The Gryphon House lounge is located in a towering tower that reaches into the clouds. Its windows frame the sun, moon, and stars, and its doors exude a righteous and awe-inspiring aura. Seated high above the clouds, it is truly magnificent and imposing.
The Serpent's Abode's resting place is buried deep beneath the Black Lake. Mermaids swim on all four walls, and the surroundings are dark and gloomy, making it a veritable underwater cave dwelling, exclusively for those with a cold and sinister nature.
Harry had previously used three rounds of scathing insults against Barrow to obtain detailed information about the Slytherin common room's entrance and exit routes, access codes, and layout.
The three of them then descended the cavern, winding their way up countless stone steps and through numerous corridors. Reaching a stone wall, Harry stopped and said:
"Basilisk."
Upon hearing the command, the stone wall vibrated and hummed a few times, revealing a stone door that slowly opened.
Ron clicked his tongue. "Basilisk? I think these pureblood lunatics are really a bit delusional."
Hermione patted Harry on the shoulder. "Harry, from now on you need to talk less—preferably not at all."
"Don't worry, elder sister, I understand."
The three entered the lounge and looked around for a moment. They saw that the surroundings were made of dark green strange rocks, which made the whole room glow green.
Several huge windows on the wall completely separate the Black Lake from the water. Outside the windows, the water ripples and waves, and schools of fish can be seen swimming around, while giant octopuses sometimes swoop by, creating a chaotic scene.
Harry walked around for a moment, taking in the entire lounge, and was secretly taken aback.
Why are there so many strange things in this lounge?
Just then, a shout came from not far away, "Why are you so late?"
The three looked closely and saw that the person who had come was none other than Draco.
With his arms crossed and eyes full of displeasure, he walked over and said, "You two aren't going to complain about food again, are you? I've told you that eating too much will make you lose muscle."
Ron hesitated, remaining silent. Hermione's eyes darted around, and she muttered in Goyle's manner:
"No, we didn't eat today. We were stopped by that scarred guy, and he told us to behave ourselves."
Draco's eyes flashed with malice. "Ha, let's wait and see. He'll end up like that idiot Colin sooner or later."
"Come with me."
Upon hearing this, Harry, Harry, and his two companions exchanged glances, sensing that there was more to the story than met the eye.
They followed Draco, and Hermione feigned curiosity, asking, "Will the heir to the Chamber of Secrets deal with him?"
"Ah, that's for sure," Draco said smugly. "That scarred guy who likes to hang out with Mudbloods is definitely not going to get away."
The three followed him into the men's dormitory. Draco plopped down on the bed, then reached under the bed and rummaged around for a moment, pulling out several bottles with a clatter, which he then threw at Harry and the others.
"Try it, the latest Dragon Blood Muscle-Building Potion, it's several times more effective than the previous one."
Harry and Hermione took the potion and drank it, but Ron hesitated, fearing that taking the potion would corrupt his pure skin.
Seeing that Draco was staring intently at him, he gritted his teeth and swallowed the food whole.
Draco also brought a bottle to drink, casually asking, "How does it feel?"
"Excellent!" Hermione puffed out her sleeves and flattered, "You really know how to do things, Draco. I dare say even Dumbledore would have a hard time getting his hands on this potion."
Ron nodded eagerly, "That's right, thanks to Draco, he's helped our Slytherin house a lot."
The two of them, singing in unison, made Draco so flattered that he was completely oblivious to his surroundings.
Hermione, seeing that the time was right, added fuel to the fire, saying, "Crawb, don't be silly. Draco isn't just good at physical things; he's also very skilled in magic."
"That day in the dueling arena, the spell he used to take down that red-haired Weasley kid was one I'd never even heard of."
Ron gritted his teeth and said, "Yeah, that despicable, treacherous, cunning, and disgusting Weasley was beaten to a pulp by your spell."
"Oh, that's nothing at all." Draco crossed his legs, becoming even more smug. "I know a lot more."
"But where did you learn all that?" Hermione pressed. "Is it some kind of family magic passed down through generations?"
Draco, completely oblivious to his surroundings, shook his head and said, "No, actually I learned it from a senior student."
Hermione's eyes lit up. There was a second person involved?
No wonder that snake monster was able to attack Colin while he was in solitary confinement in Malfoy!
She then asked, "Which senior is so amazing?"
Draco glanced at him sideways and said arrogantly, "Oh, his name is Tom Riddle. I bet you've never heard of him."
