When Casalos was pulled in by Toona, the tavern was already packed, with people even standing on the spiral staircase. Just when Casalos thought he would have to squeeze into the standing room, Toona took out an exquisite badge and handed it to the waiter before walking into the VIP booth. It seemed that she had either reserved the table in advance or that her current human identity held a considerable position in Waterdeep.
I recommended the must-order turtle soup and seafood risotto to Casalos, and the restaurant erupted in cheers even before the food was served.
Following Toona's direction, Casalos looked towards the center of the courtyard. A slender girl in exquisite armor had already stepped onto the stage. Her armor had an elven style, with its main structure woven from shimmering gold or silver-plated metallic lines, most of which was openwork and offered no protection whatsoever. Beneath the armor, the girl wore a thin, transparent veil, her fair skin and vital parts faintly exposed, eliciting excited howls from the men in the tavern.
She strolled over to the black longsword, grasped the hilt which was disproportionately large for her size, and struggled to pull it up above her head. A joyful melody began to play, and her singing voice emanated from the sword.
The diners didn't quiet down; instead, they became even more excited, many even joining in the singing. Longsword's voice was loud and clear, full of masculinity, and carried by the tavern's boisterous enthusiasm, it drifted into the nearby streets, drawing even more people into the chorus.
“The Troll Song is the most beloved ballad among the residents of Glorious City. It sings of the Waterdeep people’s victory over the trolls and their establishment of a foothold in the Northlands,” Toona said, sitting down next to Casalos.
As the magic sword's song was about to end, the diners who had just been singing along suddenly went berserk, screaming and even using their magic to drown out the sword's voice and interrupt it.
Didn't you say this was your favorite song? Why are you messing around?
Just as Casalos was wondering what was going on, the interrupted magic sword started singing again from the beginning of the song, and the cheerful melody followed closely behind. The shouting diners were finally satisfied and joined in the singing again with laughter.
“They’re always like this; they won’t stop until it repeats the troll song two or three times.” Taona smiled as she took the food and drinks brought by the waiter and placed them on the table in front of Casalos. “Luckily, this sword won’t get angry because of this, otherwise they would be in big trouble.”
Casalos nodded, but its mind was elsewhere.
Indeed, a +2 magic longsword possessing its own intelligence and special abilities would likely kill these guys, whose highest individual overall level doesn't even exceed 5, on the spot if they went berserk. Given such stringent quality requirements, Faerûn's current magic simply couldn't create such a thing; it's a mystery what kind of magical technology could create such a miraculous magical item. Ilminster's belief that the sword was a creation of the ancient Netheril Empire might not be entirely unreasonable.
Everyone was having a great time when a low-level mage, for some unknown reason, jumped out of the crowd and, without saying a word, threw a dispel spell at the singing magic sword, trying to wash away the permanent magical effect on it.
However, the mage's spell failed, and the magic sword, suddenly "attacked," let out a loud roar, instantly silencing the boisterous tavern.
Before most people could react, the dark magic sword, guided by the sword-wielding girl, pointed at him and laughed loudly in its magnetic voice: "Haha, where did this little mage come from? Why don't you go outside the troll wall and find a dying troll to pee on so you can look in the mirror and see yourself? You've only studied magic for a few years, and now you're a qualified apprentice? You dare to attack me with your clumsy spells?"
Go and summon your mentor, and your mentor's mentor too. I'll hover here and wait, letting you all cast spells together. Let's see if your entire school of mages can even move a patch of my rusty iron after exhausting all your magic... You're simply overestimating yourselves!"
"Well, the intelligence is even higher than I imagined," Casalos muttered to himself.
Hearing the magic sword's mockery, the diners finally understood what had happened and burst into laughter.
Taona was unsurprised by this. She lifted her cup filled with Miraba's Flame, took a small sip, and said to Casalos, "Waterdeep is very inclusive. Many tourists come here, and often some rather dull mages, upon seeing this sword, can't resist their curiosity and want to study it properly. Unfortunately, no one has ever succeeded. This sword seems to be immune to all dispelling magic."
“No matter what world it is, there are always some people who have nothing better to do than do something out of place.” Casalos tilted his head and looked at the humanoid dragon that was getting closer and closer to him, almost sitting in his seat. He said with a strange expression, “It’s quite normal for a tavern owner to spend a little money to hire a few shills to do this kind of thing.”
"Hmm?" Tao Na's eyes lit up. Hearing the commotion in the tavern rise to another level, she nodded thoughtfully. "It seems that possibility is indeed more likely. As expected of Shang Long, who has traveled to all walks of life, you saw through the trick at a glance. It seems that your business in Deepwater City will definitely be very good in the future. That landlady that Long hates now has a rival."
"Landlady?"
"Xia Lanweiluos is also a hidden dragon in the city. I was planning to take you to meet her tomorrow. Most of the houses rented out in the city belong to her, and most of the nobles and merchants in Deepwater City owe her gold coins..."
Chapter 134
The food and drinks at the Sword of Songs were decent, but for a robust dragon like Casalos who was still growing, it was hardly enough to fill his stomach. He only managed a taste, but he thoroughly enjoyed the performances that were coordinated both on and off the field.
Following the usual human dating routine, after dinner, the next stop was, of course, to catch a performance by a famous bard at the renowned Siren of Smiles Theater. Coincidentally, the famous bard performing tonight was none other than Kenneth, the recently rising "Dragon Slayer," who had adapted his heroic slaying of the dragon that ruled Tindor into a sweeping epic poem, and was frequently invited by the Siren of Smiles to perform it.
According to Tao Na, many people go to see Kenneth's performance not to hear about his heroic deeds, but more to see the adult red dragon skull hanging in the center of the theater during his performance, which is a rare sight.
The author says:
Author's note: I can't sleep, so I'll just force myself to write one more chapter and post it. I don't know if I'll be able to update tomorrow.
52. I Have a Date with Dragon (3)
Looking at the red dragon skull hanging in the center of the theater, Tao Na seemed to be reminded of something, a trace of melancholy flashed across her face, and she said something in a barely audible voice.
Casalos couldn't hear very clearly, so it didn't bother to ask any questions for the time being.
Although Kenneth was outwardly just a level 6 bard, he was actually a fully grown bronze dragon with a Charisma score of 20 even with a standard blank slate. His performance was no less impressive than that of some long-established, renowned bards. Accompanied by the melodious strains of the lute, the audience, who claimed to have come for the red dragon's skull, were quickly drawn into Kenneth's performance, as if his poetry had transported them to the epic dragon-slaying war, where they were wielding longswords, casting spells, and engaging in a life-or-death struggle with the ferocious and powerful red dragon.
Even Tao Na, who was also a dragon, was quite engrossed in listening.
“Looks like my investment was worthwhile.” For some reason, seeing Toona’s engrossed expression, Casalos felt a little uncomfortable and pouted. He then revealed one of Kenneth’s secret identities to draw Toona’s attention back from her performance.
"Investment, you mean?"
“Kenneth, I sponsored all his activities in Water Deep, including that red dragon skull.”
"You mean..." Upon hearing this, Tao Na's eyes widened and her mouth gaped open like a real young girl's, her hands clenched into fists and placed on her rather large chest: "That's a fully grown red dragon!"
An ancient dragon with at least 800 years of experience has seen all sorts of situations, and even the most astonishing events wouldn't elicit such a shocked expression. Toona keenly sensed Casalos's awkward little thoughts and was trying to soothe it in this way.
Normally, Casalos should have been able to sense that something was wrong, but certain hormones surging in its human form had blinded it. Seeing Toona's affected manner, a mysterious sense of satisfaction filled the small void in its heart, and it suddenly found Kenneth's performance pleasing to the eye.
"I bit off its neck, poured dragon breath into the wound, and electrocuted all the organs in its chest cavity to preserve this perfect skull." It began to boast about its past battles, thankfully not forgetting to change the details that might expose its identity.
Tona's eyes sparkled with delight, making Casalos even happier...
After enjoying a wonderful performance, Taona pulled Casalos back to the vicinity of Deepwater Fortress and into the enormous and extravagantly luxurious five-story building.
Looking at the shop sign outlined with the Light Dance spell on the door, Casalos felt a little strange: Is this a place for a date?
Tasloon's Mama's Amusement Park, the most famous pleasure house in the Glorious City, everyone knows what I mean.
Upon entering the Pleasure Hall, Casalos's eyes were not first drawn to the glamorous girls, but rather to rows of costumes worn by gracefully sculpted mannequins behind glass display cases. These ranged from lace-trimmed silk pajamas to pirate outfits, full-body steel paladin armor, wild barbarian attire, and exquisite elven armor. All of these costumes deliberately minimized the amount of covering, employing numerous structural modifications that hindered movement but were extremely figure-hugging, all to accentuate the wearer's alluring figure.
The lobby is a huge public bath, with moss-covered stone beaches along the edge and carefully selected jungle plants dividing it into several spaces for unique guests who do not prefer private entertainment.
Two welcoming maids came forward, but Tao Na quickly sent them away from a distance.
"Just arrange two barmaids and a singer for me, and I will personally serve this guest," she said. After seeing the badge she displayed, the staff bowed respectfully and let her through.
"I did pretty badly in the first few years after arriving in Glorious City, but things improved as I got more familiar with the city. Although I couldn't compare to that landlady, I did get involved in quite a few industries, and this is one of them."
The female ancient dragon-transformed human girl led Casalos into a spacious room with white marble floor tiles. While explaining, she personally changed Casalos into a bathrobe and led it into a clear pool of water with floating flower petals.
The water temperature in the pool was just right, and the unknown flower petals released a faint fragrance that filled the room, while the singer's melodious and gentle voice lingered in the air.
Wearing only a thin veil, Tao Na wrapped her arms around Casalos's waist from behind, her soft hands gently tracing his chest. Her two soft, white phoenix ointments pressed against his back, the fragrant dewdrops, slightly cooler than his body temperature, like dew on a flower, made him shudder as they penetrated his skin, which was many times more sensitive than the thick, carved dragon scales beneath his human form...
The morning sunlight streamed through the mesh curtains into the room, gently waking Casalos.
Looking down at the frail body curled up in its arms, stroking its smooth, snow-like skin, feeling the delicate breath on its chest, it recalled the events of last night and pondered with some doubt about Long Sheng:
What the heck? Is this normal? A baby dragon transforms into an adult human and suddenly has the functions of an adult human? Then what about the bullets it fires? Are they human or dragon-like...? Considering the common origins of humanoid half-dragon species in Faerûn, they should probably be dragon-like, but the baby dragon's organs aren't fully developed yet, so where were the bullets made?
Could it be a blank? That seems plausible. Otherwise, given the silver dragon's penchant for courting humanoids during its juvenile and adolescent stages, the most common humanoid half-dragon race on the continent of Faerûn should be half-silver dragons. Yet, in reality, compared to other bloodlines of half-dragons, the number of half-silver dragons is pitifully small. So, it probably doesn't need to worry about suddenly becoming a father while still a young dragon.
We agreed to keep our distance and keep things hanging for a while, so how did I fall for him so easily after just one hug?
Isn't this bizarre transformation a bit too realistic? The self-control in human form is much worse than in dragon form. Even the slightest external stimulus can make hormones overwhelm the brain. It seems that it's better to transform into human form less often in the future!
Casalos secretly resolved to add new behavioral norms to his routine. Lying in its lap, Toona sensed the movement, opened her eyes, and turned to see its thoughtful, seemingly gazing eyes. She smiled faintly and asked, "Is it pretty?"
The plump, round face exuded a subtle fragrance, swaying as the girl turned. Her graceful figure, like a graceful maiden amidst orchids and budding flowers, stirred the air. Casalos's newly regained sanity was instantly overwhelmed by the sweeping tide of emotion. From the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the southern cliffs, came gasps that were sometimes mournful, sometimes melancholic.
53. My Date with Dragon (The End)
Dragons can appreciate the beauty of all races, and in their eyes, the Tauna human form is undoubtedly beautiful.
Her beauty isn't the kind that's breathtaking, nor does it immediately overwhelm your vision upon first sight. Rather, it's a subtle, gentle beauty, one that needs to be slowly appreciated and felt. It's a beauty that has stood the test of time.
Chapter 135
The intoxicating beauty that time has nurtured.
Compared to the sculpted, three-dimensional faces commonly found on the continent of Faerûn, the humanoid face that Tona chose to interact with Casalos was much gentler. It was neither adorned with makeup nor powder, with long, flowing brown hair, arched and slender eyebrows like willow leaves, and a pair of bright eyes that seemed to be filled with black flames glancing around. Her lips were thin yet moist, her teeth were crystal clear and white, and she always wore a faint smile, revealing two sweet dimples under her cheekbones.
Her figure moved with a graceful, light movement, like the silhouette of a silver dragon riding the wind, yet also reminiscent of the imperial dragons swimming in the springs of the Karatu continent. Her radiance was like wildflowers blooming in spring, her figure as lush as a pine tree in the spring breeze, slender yet fleshy, veiled in thin gauze, sometimes visible, sometimes hidden, like a moon veiled in light clouds, sometimes drifting and swirling like snowflakes in a whirlwind. From afar, she was as bright and clear as the moon rising in a clear night sky; up close, she was as lively as water plants swaying on green waves. Her shoulders were narrow as if cut by a knife, her waist slender as a sash, and her beautiful neck revealed fair skin.
Coupled with her elegant and charming posture, gentle and quiet demeanor, soft and compliant manner, and appropriate and pleasing words, plus some skillful tactics, it was only natural that she could quietly capture the heart of Casalos, a virgin dragon. Casalos had figured it out; when Tona saw it display an unfamiliar male humanoid form, she had already planned the passion for this night.
Indeed, dragons wouldn't engage in coy, sentimental courtship. Once they've identified their target, they use their most proficient methods to seduce and conquer – that's the most common courtship approach. However, red dragons excel at blatant, violent conquest, iron dragons prefer open and honest agreements, a certain legendary dragon that trades its looks for strength enjoys lavish parties, and the song dragon Casalos encountered was much more subtle, but ultimately, a passionate encounter was still necessary to solidify the relationship.
After that night, Casalos… no, it was Ratambilol, who was now sworn to be a mate with Tarona Moramura. This was not merely a formality, but a contract, a contract overseen by Tamara, the merciful lady and guardian of the dragon's nest and the chicks and eggs. Since Casalos had not refused and the contract was successfully formed, it could not break the contract with Tarona until it had completed at least one breeding mission with her and cared for the young dragons until they were able to live independently. The cost of unilaterally breaking the contract was very high—even the chaotic red dragons, after finding a mate, would raise their cubs to a certain age before parting ways, wasn't that because they were bound by this contract?
This is the price of impulsiveness. Casalos's plan to use his male dragon identity to fish for mates is essentially ruined. Toona will absolutely not allow other female dragons to try and get a share. Her age as an ancient dragon is absolute authority—female ancient dragons have already entered menopause and no longer possess the ability to reproduce, thus they no longer have a need for a mate. Toona is the strongest female dragon in the entire continent of Faerûn who is currently seeking a mate; what chance do other dragons have over her? Do they really think dragon claws and teeth are just decorations?
But it doesn't matter. The help that Toona alone can provide to Casalos might surpass that of all the female dragons in the entire continent of Faerûn. Its goal has been achieved in a sense, and the result is even better than expected.
However, the identity of the male dragon Ratambilol is no longer a disguise that can be discarded at any time, but a "clone" that Casalos needs to manage and maintain for a long time.
As for the fact that Casalos is essentially still a young dragon and could not possibly impregnate Toona, it's not really a big problem. Casalos is only about forty years away from reaching a reproductively mature stage, while Toona is nearly two hundred years away from entering her sterile, ancient dragon stage. She can physiologically wait several decades; as an ancient dragon who has lived for eight hundred years, she also has ample psychological patience to wait.
As long as Casalos maintains her identity well enough, if she is unable to conceive for a long time, she will only suspect that she has some physiological abnormalities due to not being in the late stages of fertility. Such things are actually quite common among the true dragons. They were too wild when they were young and never found a mate. When they reached the ancient dragon stage, they finally remembered this due to physiological factors. After finding a mate, they found that they had become infertile or even unable to conceive.
Even among the colorful dragons, many dragons, after reaching the age of Elder Dragon, will adopt some young orphaned dragons as their offspring, which is due to the compensatory psychology that arises after discovering the situation.
In short, Casalos, having regained his composure, pondered for a long time and concluded that his impulsive act hadn't resulted in any significant loss; on the contrary, he had gained quite a bit, and the risk was very low. He was quite satisfied... Dragons, at least Iron Dragons, think this way. As for feelings, he and Toona had only known each other for one night; there wasn't much affection to speak of yet. Even if they became friends through sex, feelings would develop over time, wouldn't they?
The next few days were much more frenzied. One of them was experiencing the forbidden fruit that his original body's physiology did not support through a form change, and the other was suffering from eight hundred years of thirst. The two transformed dragons naturally devoted their absolutely vigorous energy to that matter.
The saying goes, "The early bird catches the worm." Start your day by exchanging a quick and pleasant "Good morning" while you're still in peak condition. Then, enjoy a nutritious breakfast, stroll along the seaside promenade perfect for a walk, find a pleasant spot for some pre-meal exercise, and grab a snack for lunch. Find a suitable hotel to escape the glaring midday sun and relax, then sleep in until sunset, before enjoying a refreshing and delicious meal. Afterward, experience the vibrant nightlife of the city's various districts, find a nice hotel nearby, and enjoy the nightlife until the next morning.
The two dragons weren't bound by any fancy places. Over the course of a few days, they stayed at the Emerald Lake Inn, which was said to be the most luxurious and extravagant in Waterdeep, visited the Purple Silk House, which had the most stable prices, and also fought fiercely in the cheap Adventure Tavern, which was just a row of straw mats on the ground. They had passion in the gardens of Black Staff Tower and Pigron Palace, and also indulged themselves in the most dangerous alleys under the watchful eyes of thugs.
Thanks to Tona's mysterious emblem, the city guards and watchmen chose to turn a blind eye to some of their outrageous behavior. Casalos did feel a few brief magical gazes, but those spies stopped as soon as they realized what they were doing. It seems that the mages of the Glorious City are used to this.
54. Additional "transactions"
Casalos was crazy for a few days, but he didn't accomplish anything worthwhile either.
Led by Toona, a seasoned local dragon, Casalos managed to meet everyone and every dragon on his Waterdeep trip plan while wandering around the various districts—the seemingly casual itinerary was clearly the result of careful selection by the ancient dragon. As long as Casalos didn't covet her treasure, she could provide him with the best assistance.
While browsing jewelry in Harazar's exquisite gem shop, Casalos met Stormfeather Harazar, the guild master of the Gem Merchants' Guild, who might become a major partner for Dragonborn's future gem production. Inside the upscale shoe store in Sulmester, Casalos encountered Piergalen Paladin, the current Open Lord of Waterdeep and arguably the greatest Open Lord in history. To expand his business in Waterdeep, this was an indispensable "partner." Toona also took Casalos to the House of Passion, a place that sounds like a pleasure house, but is actually the headquarters of Waterdeep's Brewers' Guild. Dragonborn's spirits, brewed with special underground mushrooms and possessing mild hallucinogenic and calming effects, could find excellent sales channels here…
These potential business partners were acquainted with the avatar of Toona. Gugolong, using the alias Mura, was a highly respected merchant and newly ascended nobleman in the City of Glory, and frequently dealt with them. She fabricated the identity of Baron of Golden Val for her companion Casalos, introducing him to the noble circles of Waterdeep.
It's worth mentioning that Baron Rol, from the distant Golden Vale, controls several trading companies that trade with the Eastern Continent. Through shapeshifting...
Chapter 136
Tao Na has repeatedly used the tactic of disguising herself as a strong competitor to her business partner in order to drive up the transaction price.
She said she learned it from the landlady. Casalos highly praised her spirit of applying what she learned and planned to extend its application to future continental trade. Using shapeshifting to do this kind of thing was too risky. Having more dragon servant agents and merchants act as shills would basically eliminate the risk of being exposed.
Besides future business partners, Toona also introduced Casalos to the most prominent archmage among the sixteen secret lords of Waterdeep, the Harpist's founder and current master, Calben "Black Staff" Orosan, and his current student and future lover, Lyra Silverhand, one of the Seven Sisters of the North and also a chosen one of the goddesses of magic.
Casalos merely glanced at Kelben Black Staff from afar without exchanging a word with him. The archmage often frequented Suren's Smiling Tavern, wearing a hood that concealed his face, quietly enjoying his food while listening to the gossip freely spread by the adventurers within.
Afterwards, Toona took Casalos to meet the renowned Deepwater City real estate tycoon, the Thousand Laws Dragon, also known as the "Landlady" Charanville Ross in Toona's words; as well as Toona's supporters in Deepwater City, the Hidden Dragons, including Casalos's primary target for this trip, "Shaving Teeth" Ramosada.
The true identity of the shaved tooth, disguised as a merchant from Tesser, is a male, mature fanged dragon with a mage class level of 17. It is undoubtedly one of the most powerful dragons in Faerûn. If we can gain its support, the dragon territory of Casaloz and the future development of the Athene dragon race will receive more effective military protection.
Fortunately, Shaving is a staunch supporter and ally of Toona, and Casalos became Toona's spouse, so it wouldn't be too difficult to gain Shaving's friendly support—Cassaloz, who was still young and without the troubles of adolescence, subconsciously ignored the possibility that he might be hostile to Shaving.
Because the meeting with Shaving Tooth was also conducted under a disguise, Casalos was temporarily unaware of the important matter he had overlooked.
Yes, even Tooth Shaving didn't know that Toona was actually Gorona Moramura. In fact, most of the meetings Toona led Casalos to meet the "celebrities" of Waterdeep were just casual encounters as strangers, not introductions or mutual acquaintances.
In Tona's survival philosophy, severing the connection between her human and dragon forms is the only way to effectively ensure her safety in this dangerous world. Dragon shapeshifting has unparalleled advantages in convenience, stealth, and anti-magic detection, but it's not without its flaws. Its shortcomings are quite obvious: unlike higher-level shapeshifting spells, it cannot acquire the special abilities or magical powers of the shapeshifted target, and it also temporarily disables many of the dragon's original abilities, including its basic physical strength and elemental subspecies attributes.
Countless powerful dragons have perished in human form or other weaker forms!
Whether it's a dragon or a human, there will always be some adversaries. If you don't separate your hidden identity from your true identity, dealing with a dragon in disguise is much easier than dealing with a dragon that is still in its original form.
“You are the only one who knows my two identities (dragon).” Taona said to Casalos with a smile. In the young heart of the Iron Dragon, while acknowledging her sense of security, he also felt a little guilty and a strong sense of responsibility because of this trust.
There are many hidden dragons in the City of Glory. They all use one or more different human identities to hide in Waterdeep, the crown of the North. While accepting the protection of Waterdeep, they have also become an indispensable part of Waterdeep's secret guardian system.
With Toona acting as a middleman, Casalos believed he could win the friendship of at least a dozen Waterdeep dragons, thus making a good start for the Dragon Territory's continental strategy.
In return, Casalos planned to "sell" Kenneth to Toona, giving her another powerful supporter in the city. Furthermore, it intended to select several dogs, including Eisen, to be transferred to Waterdeep, to serve under Toona and protect her.
Therefore, it specially arranged for the dragon to meet the dogs it had brought with it beforehand. To prevent the dogs, disguised as Falin and being taken as companions by the nobles and merchants of Waterdeep City, from becoming too nervous, they were only allowed to see them from a distance.
"Actually, I've wanted to ask this for a long time: where did you find so many magic scale servants? Their birth is completely random, each magic scale is so mysterious, and they don't seem very willing to serve us..."
“No, you’re overthinking it. They’re not magic scales, they’re half-dragon kobolds who just used shapeshifting to disguise themselves as magic scales,” Casalos said truthfully. “I had them disguise themselves as magic scales just so they wouldn’t be discriminated against or ostracized. You know, they’re inherently evil, and even with me keeping them in check, there’s still a chance they might cause some unnecessary trouble when provoked.”
55. Dragon Clan
White Casaloz held Toona in his arms, gazing at her on Seaview Street. While enjoying Casaloz's fingers gently caressing and teasing the nerve endings on her body, listening to her explanation, he watched with a strange expression as two richly dressed nobles escorted a "Falcon Scale" crew member from the Iron Dawn into the Purple Silk House. He said uncertainly, "Kobolds? These idiots… Do you think kobolds would have any interest in this kind of thing except when they're reproducing?"
"No way. As far as I know, they don't understand human pleasures. In their racial philosophy, such pleasures unrelated to reproduction are a complete waste of their working time." Casalos, who could sense the kobold's emotions being pulled into the pleasure room within the telepathic link, was quite amused.
If it weren't for his orders, that level 12 dragon vein warlock and level 4 warrior half-dragon kobold would probably have already left those two clueless nobles several streets away.
But every few minutes, its expression became strange: the kobold's previous frustration and suppressed anger disappeared, as if it had found "entertainment" that suited its needs.
This is utter nonsense!
The Falin are a special "race," and whether they can even be called a race at this point is still a big question mark.
Their birth is similar to that of dragon-blooded creatures. When two sorcerers form a family, there is a very small chance that their offspring will be a magic scale, which is a strange change that occurs when the dragon bloodline continues in a humanoid species.
The Falins, in their small, humanoid forms, display all the finest features of dragons. Their skin is composed of glossy scales with a wide variety of color combinations, encompassing almost every hue. No Falin is a single color; each displays a rich spectrum of variations in its primary color. A predominantly green Falin may have deeper forest green patterns on its body, with lighter green fingernails and toenails, while the ridges of its eyes and nostrils are a deep aquamarine. The complexity of their scale coloration makes the Falins more elegant than other scaly humanoids, such as kobolds or reptilians.
