Chapter 20: The hands are quite big.
Chapter 20: The hands are quite big.
Ning Rongrong's eyes darted around, and she suddenly let go of his hand.
Ye Chen thought she was about to finish and was about to get up when Ning Rongrong raised one leg.
She lifted the hem of her nightgown and pulled her pants up a bit, revealing her fair and slender calves.
Under the light, her calves had smooth lines and delicate, flawless skin, gleaming with a soft glow in the dim light.
"My legs are so white and tender," Ning Rongrong said with a grin, her tone full of teasing and playfulness, "Would you like to touch them?"
She was certain that Ye Chen wouldn't dare.
It was just a joke, after all.
Ning Rongrong thought to herself, "When boys hear these words, they'll either blush, stutter, or run away in panic."
She was ready to enjoy watching Ye Chen's embarrassed state.
Ye Chen looked at her fair and tender legs, and then at her smug expression.
He gritted his teeth.
"You said it yourself."
As soon as he finished speaking, Ye Chen's hand swiftly reached out and gave Ning Rongrong's calf a firm pat.
Smooth, tender, delicate, and warm—it really feels great.
Ning Rongrong froze.
The smile on her face froze, then suddenly turned bright red to her ears, like a cat that had been burned. She quickly pulled her legs back, pulled the blanket over herself, and curled up into a ball.
"You...you really touched me?!"
Her voice changed, filled with both shame and anger, her eyes wide open like a frightened rabbit.
The sound of water in the bathroom continued, and Xiao Wu hadn't come out yet, still humming an unknown tune.
Ye Chen withdrew his hand and commented without changing his expression, "It feels really good."
Then he stood up, turned around and left.
"You...you stop right there! Ye Chen! You—!"
Ning Rongrong called out from behind, both embarrassed and annoyed, but dared not shout loudly for fear that Xiao Wu would hear her.
She grabbed a pillow, intending to throw it at him, but Ye Chen had already reached the door.
Ye Chen opened the door, glanced back at her, and gave her an innocent smile: "You're the one who let me touch you. Goodnight."
The door slammed shut.
Ning Rongrong hugged her pillow, the blush on her face lingering, her heart pounding like a drum.
"That bastard... I was just kidding..." she muttered softly, burying her face in the pillow.
But her fingers unconsciously touched the spot where Ye Chen had just touched her.
It seems... it's not cold yet.

After an incense stick had burned for a while, the bathroom door opened.
Xiao Wu came out wearing a white nightgown, her hair still wet and draped over her shoulders, which she was drying with a towel. Her skin was slightly flushed from the steam, and her face carried a lazy and satisfied look after her bath.
"Rongrong, what's wrong? Your face is so red?"
Xiao Wu walked over while drying her hair and saw Ning Rongrong huddled under the covers, only her eyes showing, her face flushed.
"No...nothing! It's too hot in the room!" Ning Rongrong fanned herself, trying to hide her true intentions, but after a couple of tries she realized she didn't actually have a fan.
"Is it hot?" Xiaowu looked at the window in confusion. "I think it's quite cool. I even opened the window a little wider."
"That means I have a hot constitution!" Ning Rongrong pulled the blanket even tighter.
Xiao Wu glanced at her suspiciously, but didn't ask any further questions.
She sat down on the edge of the bed, continuing to dry her hair, and casually said, "By the way, did Brother Ye Chen come by earlier? I think I heard voices outside."
Ning Rongrong's heart tightened.
"Come...come over here," she tried to make her tone sound normal. "He said he was looking for you, waited for a while, but you didn't come out, so he left."
Xiao Wu pouted, somewhat disappointed: "Why didn't you call me?"
"I called out, but you didn't hear me," Ning Rongrong said guiltily.
Xiao Wu didn't think much of it, dried her hair, and stood up: "Then I'll go see him again tomorrow. Rongrong, goodnight."
"Good night."
The lights went out.
In the darkness, Ning Rongrong lay in bed, staring at the ceiling with her eyes open.
The scene from just now kept replaying in his mind—Ye Chen's hand, the warmth of his palm, the sensation from his calf, and the words, "It feels really good."
She turned over and buried her face in the pillow.
Why did I let him touch me...?
However... his hands are quite big...
Ning Rongrong, what are you thinking about?!
Ning Rongrong's face turned red again under the pillow.
The next morning, just as dawn broke, the inn's lobby came alive with activity.
After breakfast, Zhao Wuji paid for the rooms, and the eight people gathered at the entrance of the inn.
"Check your equipment, don't forget anything," Zhao Wuji said.
The group checked everything – weapons, soul tools, dry rations, water bags, and medicine were all there.
"Set off!"
The group left Xingdou Town and headed southeast.
The morning air was fresh and moist, and dewdrops clung to the roadside grass, sparkling in the sunlight.
On the distant horizon, an endless primeval forest appears and disappears in the distance.
After walking for about an hour, the trees ahead became denser and the road narrower until it disappeared completely.
Weeds grew rampant, vines entwined, and the air was filled with the scent of earth and fallen leaves, mixed with a faint, unknown fishy smell—the scent of a soul beast.
Zhao Wuji stopped in his tracks.
"The outer edge of the Star Dou Great Forest is just ahead." He turned to the group and said, his voice much more serious than usual. "From now on, everyone stay alert and don't fall behind. If you encounter any soul beasts, don't panic, just follow my instructions."
Everyone's expressions turned serious.
Ye Chen looked at the deep forest and took a deep breath.
The forest boundary acts like a natural barrier—outside are open meadows and sparse trees, inside are towering trees and dense, impenetrable shrubs.
The tree trunks were covered with moss, and the air was filled with a damp smell. Occasionally, the calls of unknown birds would come from the depths, long and mysterious.
Xiao Wu stood beside him, her gaze towards the forest somewhat complicated.
She gripped Ye Chen's hand tightly; his fingers were slightly cool, and a thin layer of sweat seeped from his palm.
"Brother Ye Chen..." she whispered, her voice so soft it was as if she was afraid of being overheard, "After we enter the forest, don't stray too far from me."
Ye Chen looked down at her and noticed that Xiao Wu's face was paler than usual, and her eyes held a hint of nervousness he had never seen before.
"What's wrong?"
"It's nothing..." Xiao Wu lowered her head, her eyelashes trembling slightly, "I'm just a little scared."
Ye Chen squeezed her hand; his palm was warm and strong. "Don't worry, I'm here."
Xiao Wu raised her head, looked into his eyes, and smiled slightly, the tension in her eyes easing a little.
But what she didn't say was that she wasn't afraid of the spirit beasts in the forest.
What she feared was... the depths of the forest, a place she had once visited.
"Go!" Zhao Wuji gave the order and took the lead in crossing the forest boundary.
The group of eight filed in and disappeared into the shadows of the Star Dou Great Forest.
A new adventure is about to begin.
