Chapter 113 Running Away from Home
Chapter 113 Running Away from Home
And so, Thea began her closed training at Black's old house.
When the Daily Prophet published the headline "Sirius's Prison Break," Thea knew that the plot was about to begin.
She calmly wrote to her Uncle Lucius, inquiring about Sirius Black and receiving the rumor that Dementors would be moving into Hogwarts.
Thea stroked her chin. A guardian spell?
It might be a little difficult for her...
But knowing there is danger, yet not thinking about how to deal with it and placing all her hopes on others, is not in Thea's character.
Thea thought about it and decided to start learning the Guardian Charm, and sent the message to Daphne and the others via owl.
Even if I really can't learn the Guardian Charm, maybe Daphne and the others will? It's good to have an extra layer of protection for myself.
With this in mind, Thea began her journey of learning the Guardian Charm.
"Take the God's Protection!"
In an empty room, Thea shouted the incantation with all her might, her mind conjuring up scenes of happiness, but the effect was not as she wished.
The tip of the cedarwood wand at most emits a few wisps of silver light, sometimes even just for a moment, before immediately going out.
The practice of the Guardian Spell allowed Thea to experience the feeling of failure for the first time in a long time.
Since she began learning magic, Thea had almost never encountered such a difficult spell, even though she had tried her best to perfect every pronunciation, every arm movement, and every arc of wand shaking.
But she still couldn't summon her guardian spirit.
After a brief period of dejection, Thea rallied and continued to work on the curse.
She began researching the origins and forms of the Guardian Charm, hoping to find tips for its practice between the lines.
As Thea tried and learned from her failures, aside from necessary rest and extracurricular reading time, she increased her spell practice time to 7 hours a day.
By the time news came from the Privet Road detection spell, Thea was already able to make her wand emit a steady and bright white light every time!
Thea is now completely at peace with herself.
The moment Thea stepped out of Black's old house, the portrait artists began to speak freely:
"Hey! Do you guys think she'll succeed?"
A tall, thin old man was the first to ask.
“Definitely not!” a witch with a somewhat serious expression said confidently. “She has practiced for so long, and all she has done is emit a wisp of white light. Without enough happy memories, the guardian spirit cannot emerge!”
"That damned Malfoy! What has he done to my heir?!"
"That damned white peacock!"
Lucius, far away at Malfoy Manor, was unfortunately caught in the crossfire.
The portraits inside the old house chattered amongst themselves. Previously, because of Thea's presence, they couldn't freely express their opinions, after all, Thea was their only remaining heir.
Even if the other party is a girl, the Black family has had female heads of the family before. Besides, Thea's aptitude and comprehension are enough to make her a worthy successor!
Thea arrived at Privet Drive via Kreacher's Apparition. When she arrived, Aunt Maggie had just gone in, so it seemed there was still some time before Harry ran away from home.
Thea waved for Kreacher to hide and wait for her command before making a move.
After Kreacher left, Thea concealed herself with a Disillusionment Charm and waited for Sirius's arrival.
--------
Harry felt that today must be the unluckiest day of his life.
He had just received a request from Professor McGonagall for Hogsmeade holiday signatures that morning, and he was about to ask Uncle Vernon to sign it for him when he learned that his most hated Aunt Maggie was coming today.
Despite his reluctance, Harry tried his best to control his temper. He obediently carried the other person's luggage upstairs, and while everyone else was eating and drinking, he quietly cleared the plates off the table as if they were nothing, and then stood silently to the side again, waiting to clear the next plate.
Harry's silence did not deter the other party. He listened as the other party criticized Harry's school and his temper one by one, while constantly emphasizing that Harry needed to be grateful.
Harry's hands clenched tighter inside his sleeves, and finally, when the other person once again mocked Harry's parents in a sarcastic tone,
"Shut up!"
Harry's sudden outburst stunned everyone. Aunt Maggie stared blankly at Harry, who was glaring at her, her mouth opening and closing, but she couldn't utter a single word.
Then, to everyone's astonishment, Aunt Maggie's body began to swell up, much like a balloon being inflated to its limit in the Muggle world.
Aunt Maggie's body grew larger and larger, and the jeweled necklace around her neck finally burst open, knocking Dudley unconscious.
Upon seeing this, Penny exclaimed in surprise and rushed over to check on her precious son, while Uncle Vernon chased after Aunt Maggie, who was floating towards the door.
"puff!"
As Uncle Vernon fell face-first onto the lawn, Penny rushed out of the living room.
Harry jogged upstairs as well.
"Oh!"
Harry slammed the door shut in anger and kicked the bedside table hard.
The loud noise did nothing to quell Harry's anger; the more he thought about it, the angrier he became, and his gaze shifted to the suitcase beside him...
When Thea saw an inflating spherical object gradually rising in a courtyard, she subtly shrank into the shadows.
The rustling sounds gradually drew closer.
The corner Thea chose was very advantageous; she could clearly see the large dog moving through the bushes, taking weak but determined steps as it approached the lone boy.
Harry plopped down on the damp road, and the black dog was only a road's width away from him, and seemed to have an urge to walk towards him.
Thea raised her hand and cast a silencing spell and a shielding spell.
The long period of being on the run, and the excitement of seeing his godson soon, made Black Dog not immediately realize that there were other people nearby.
But the magical fluctuations generated by the spell finally made him belatedly realize that something was wrong.
“If I were you, I would never rush in recklessly,” Thea stepped out of the shadows. “Mr. Black.”
"……Who are you?"
Sirius took two steps back warily, as if he was about to rush out the door and escape at any moment.
Seeing that the other party was not very cooperative, Thea did not hesitate.
"Kreacher!"
"What? You..."
Before Sirius could finish speaking, he was swiftly and decisively knocked unconscious by Kreacher.
Seeing that Harry had successfully boarded the Knight Bus, Thea had Kreacher Apparate with her and Sirius to Black's Old House.
