Chapter 135 Rats
Chapter 135 Rats
Harry, upon hearing this, understood what the two were arguing about.
This scenario started playing out last semester.
“Alright, Ron, I think Scabbers might need some tonic to get back to its normal state.”
Harry went to Ron first and gestured to Hermione with his eyes to calm down.
Harry's interruption left Ron unable to vent his anger, so he could only go back to his dormitory with Harry and stop arguing with Hermione.
Harry breathed a sigh of relief.
----------
When Thea encountered the mouse running around the castle again,
"stop!"
The girl's sweet voice rang in Peter's ears, sounding just like a soul-reaping messenger from hell.
Peter instinctively tried to escape, but the girl used a full-body binding spell to pin him to the ground.
Thea crouched down, looking just like an innocent little girl who had just seen a toy.
“I met a big black dog the other day. What do you think about giving you to it?” Thea whispered.
Peter's eyes were bloodshot.
I should have stayed in my dorm today.
"Mr. Pediru? What do you think?"
Thea's voice rang out again.
This made Peter feel like he'd been electrocuted from head to toe; the intense stimulation caused the spell to loosen for a moment, but only for a moment.
Peter had never thought so fast before; countless pieces of information flashed through his mind.
The girl's smile didn't escape Peter's notice...
It was a mouse, and it had never looked at Thea's face so closely before.
This face gradually overlapped with the nightmare deep in my mind...
Seeing the fear and shock in Peter's eyes.
Thea waved her hand and broke the spell on the other person.
The mouse froze in place, not moving for a long time, looking as if it had been scared out of its wits.
It was indeed terrified.
"Wait for me in the washroom next to the kitchen at 11 p.m. tomorrow night."
Peter nodded vigorously, his immense fear leaving him with no thought of resistance.
While Thea was threatening the rats, Harry, Hagrid, and their friends were trying to comfort the heartbroken Hagrid.
"Pfft~"
With a snorting sound like a steam whistle, Harry, Harry, and their friends struggled to resist the urge to cover their ears.
"Hagrid, don't be sad, maybe there's still a chance?"
Harry moved closer to Hagrid and tried to comfort him.
“There’s no other way… They’re going to hold a hearing… Buckbeak is very likely to be sentenced to death… It’s unlikely he’ll survive…”
Hagrid choked back tears, gazing sadly toward the Forbidden Forest.
That's the direction of the habitat of Bakbik and his people.
"What about Dumbledore? Maybe he has a way."
Ron racked his brains for an idea.
"Professor Dumbledore is very busy... The Ministry of Magic has meetings every day..."
Upon hearing this, the three exchanged a knowing glance, further confirming Hermione's earlier suspicions.
"If I had known, I wouldn't have brought Buckbeak to class..."
“Xia already warned me…”
"I even caused you two to have a falling out..."
Upon hearing this, Harry and his two companions' expressions also turned sour.
Harry was simply disappointed. Even though they had practiced the Patronus Charm for so long, he still didn't have the courage to talk to the other person openly...
Ron and Hermione were somewhat embarrassed. Although they knew the culprits weren't Thea and Draco, they ultimately didn't apologize to them...
----------
As night fell, the entire Hogwarts fell silent.
In a bathroom, a mouse cowered timidly in the corner.
"Peter?"
A familiar sound rang out, and the entire washroom was illuminated by light.
The mouse dared not linger; it turned around and instantly transformed into a short, chubby, bald middle-aged man.
“…Young Master…”
Thea resisted the urge to frown and tried to keep her expression blank.
"I need you to do one thing. If you succeed, I can make sure you live in front of your father..."
Peter wanted to bow his head to the ground as much as possible, and hurriedly said, "I will obey my master's orders!"
Thea smiled contentedly. "Listen, I need you..."
By the time Thea finished giving the order, Peter was trembling all over, stammering, "...Master...this...this..."
"What? You can't do it?"
Thea's face immediately darkened, and she slowly took out her wand.
Seeing that things were going badly, Peter immediately said, "I can do it! I absolutely can do it!"
Thea smiled and said, "Then I'll wait and see, my father's most loyal servant."
After a beating, there's always a sweet treat to give!
Thea understood this principle well.
Meanwhile, in a dormitory in Gryffindor, Harry's eyes widened in disbelief.
“Peter Pedirou? Isn’t he already dead?”
A uniquely Gryffindor courage compelled Harry to leave the common room and follow the entry for Peter Pediru.
It's near, it's near!
He's right around that corner!
Harry silently gripped his wand tighter.
Peter felt incredibly unlucky tonight. He had just been threatened, and although the title of "most loyal servant" sounded impressive, he was terrified that he wouldn't live to receive it!
But he dared not disobey what the other party said.
I finally accepted this fact, and then I ran into a little wizard wandering around at night!
Fortunately, I am currently in the form of a rat!
And so, Peter ran quickly along the wall without hesitation.
Harry had braced himself for the enemy, but he never expected to encounter such a fantastical scene. The two entries overlapped for a moment, and then Peter's entry immediately overtook his!
Harry tried to probe the way with his wand, but found nothing.
When he looked down again, he realized danger was approaching, and Harry immediately hid the map function.
"Potter!"
No one knows how terrifying Professor Snape's face was in the dark.
Harry was truly thankful he didn't have a heart condition; otherwise, even Madam Pomfrey wouldn't have been able to save him in time...
"Take it out!"
Snape demanded without hesitation that Harry take the contents of his pocket out.
Harry felt relieved and obediently took out the parchment.
"Reveal yourself immediately!"
A line appeared on the parchment: "Greetings to Mr. Snape, and ask him not to meddle with his big nose, and also ask him not to sniff out other people's business with his big nose."
Snape's face instantly darkened. Harry had never seen him look so bad before. No matter how much Harry angered Snape, he had never shown such a terrible expression.
Just as Snape was about to pull the parchment away, Lupin came to the rescue, saying, "Professor Snape, I think I should be the one to examine this item. After all, I am the professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts."
Despite Snape's cold demeanor, Lupin's tone remained neither humble nor arrogant.
Snape stared at the other person for a while, then finally turned and left.
Lupin then turned around and led Harry to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom.
After Lupin finished explaining the origin and purpose of the map, Harry suddenly said, "A name that should have died appeared on this map: Peter Pediru."
After saying this, Harry hurriedly took his leave, leaving behind a pale-faced Professor Lupin.
