Chapter 204 The Wind Rises
Chapter 204 The Wind Rises
"So..." Draco hesitated, "you're still going to help them?"
Draco wasn't stupid, and even a fool could see that Thea was helping Potter and the others. If Thea hadn't changed the subject in time, Potter might have gotten into an argument with Umbridge in class—although he did eventually do get into one.
"You're always like this, ever since the start of the semester..."
Draco no longer felt the indignation she had before; instead, she felt increasingly bitter and helpless. Was the identity of the savior so special that it was worth risking her life time and time again?
With Voldemort's return, countless students in Slytherin were scrambling to climb the ranks. If it weren't for Thea's considerable influence in Slytherin and their lack of concrete evidence, letters accusing Thea of helping Potter would likely have reached Voldemort's desk the very next day.
"Do not worry!"
Thea knew Draco was hesitant to speak, so she casually patted Draco's shoulder. The boy was more than half a head taller than Thea, so Thea had to stand on tiptoe slightly.
“I’m confident I can handle this. As for Slytherin…” A glint of malice flashed in Thea’s eyes, “Perhaps I’ve been too lenient lately, which has emboldened them…”
Hearing Thea's low voice, Draco instinctively shuddered, and couldn't help but feel sorry for those who were jumping the loudest.
Sure enough, the next second...
"Call Zabini over; I have a favor to ask him."
Zabini, the boy who perfectly inherited his mother's talent for social interaction, was the most well-informed person in Slytherin.
"it is good."
Draco didn't ask Thea what she planned to do; he simply walked out of the room and prepared to go to the stadium to call Zabini over.
Zabini arrived quickly; in fact, he was still breathing heavily when he entered the house.
Unlike before, Thea did not immediately offer the other person a cup of tea at the right temperature. Instead, she sat down in the main seat with an air of superiority and looked the other person up and down with an unpredictable expression.
Zabini stopped joking and stood silently in front of Thea, cold sweat slowly seeping from his forehead, his mind racing as he pondered Thea's intentions.
As time went by, the atmosphere in the room became increasingly stagnant. For the first time, Zabini felt that the room was too small and the air was much thinner.
"I've heard that someone's been quite restless lately—"
Thea seemed to have grown tired of the "statues" game as well, resting one hand on her chin and speaking with great interest.
Zabini, however, did not lower his guard because of Thea's gentle tone; instead, he became even more stiff.
"...They're just a bunch of fools who can't see the situation..."
Isn't he just an idiot?
Regardless, Thea was Voldemort's acknowledged successor. Those fools not only failed to seize the opportunity to climb the social ladder, but instead tried to find fault with Thea to claim credit.
My brain really isn't working properly.
"Fool?" Thea chuckled. "Zabini, are you even a smart person?"
Zabini's mind, which had just relaxed, tensed up again.
Why did she ask that?
Did she realize something?
Could it be...?
Zabini's eyes struggled, prompting Thea to chuckle again.
"Don't you know? I've learned Legilimency—"
bass!
Zabini was instantly jolted, reflexively lowered his head, and refused to speak again.
“Zabini, we’ve known each other for so long…”
I hope you can be a smart person.
"Oh, right, I'm going to relaunch the Duel Club tonight—"
Zabini was startled. Tonight?
Seeing Zabini's disbelief, Thea mercifully said, "Because time is a bit tight, this is limited to Slytherin students only."
Zabini: "…………"
Does that mean I can relax a bit if I only apply to Slytherin students?
Zabini wanted to complain a bit, but when he met Thea's ambiguous smile, he felt inexplicably guilty and hurriedly left.
Thea was left alone in the room once again.
She then began to look through the files Draco had just sent: Chester Field, Harold Linek, Carl Rogers, Catherine Allred…
Too hasty…
------
Although Zabini was exhausted, he still managed to notify all the Slytherin students within half an hour.
The reason it involved all the Slytherin students? Ha! Who couldn't see that Thea's real intentions were something else entirely!
She just used the Duel Club as a front to teach those idiots who were having ulterior motives a lesson!
Thinking of this, Zabini became increasingly uneasy.
Thea said he was smart, and he was indeed smart; otherwise, he wouldn't have been the first to discover that Thea had been tricked by Notebook Tom. But it was precisely this intelligence that made him increasingly indecisive.
Oh my god!
He really couldn't decide whether he wanted to stick with Thea to the bitter end!
"Zabini?"
Daphne's abrupt voice snapped Zabini out of his increasingly erratic thoughts, and within seconds, he immediately put on his usual carefree grin.
"Daphne? What are you doing here?"
"I came to see if you've finished giving the notifications," Daphne said suspiciously. "What were you up to, standing here so furtively?"
"I didn't!" Zabini cried out, "I was just taking a break here. I just ran the whole cellar over!"
"Alright, I'll believe you this once," Daphne said, not pressing the issue further.
The two started walking together toward the lounge.
"Why did Thea suddenly announce a rally? I have a feeling that tonight's rally is not for good purposes..." Daphne's voice grew lower and lower as she spoke.
Zabini was startled, but remained calm on the surface. "Maybe Thea suddenly remembered something to tell us. Anyway, I didn't do anything."
"Oh." Daphne felt slightly relieved.
