Chapter 217 Follow-up to the Operation
Chapter 217 Follow-up to the Operation
The operation ended with Thea being "forcibly" taken away by Lucius.
The meeting room on the second floor of the Riddle House.
Every Death Eater participating in the event stood in the center of the conference room. The originally large conference table had long been cleared for them, leaving only a throne standing alone on the table.
But not a single Death Eater dared to look directly at the person in the chair, and could only let that deathly gaze, capable of cutting a person in two, sweep over their entire body.
“So,” Voldemort finally spoke after a long silence, but many Death Eaters trembled violently at the mention of those two words.
"So, all you got back from this operation was this pile of junk?"
Upon hearing this description, many Death Eaters secretly glanced at the particularly conspicuous figure at the front of the group.
Noticing those gazes, Thea pursed her lips and lowered her head even further.
LOL, she's not stupid. Her cheapskate father was already furious, and she didn't want to suffer a few more heart-piercing curses.
Voldemort, sitting at the very front, could clearly see the eyes of those people. His gaze suddenly darkened, and his anger intensified.
These bunch of useless trash! They couldn't even get something back!
If Thea hadn't managed to steal some things and set off a firework before leaving, thus saving face, they really would have slunk back.
Just as Voldemort's anger was rising, Nagini silently swam up to him.
Voldemort leaned down as well. "Good girl, how many people's scents did you detect in the Secret Affairs Room?"
...I'm not sure...that person was blocking the door, I could only smell a very mixed odor inside...
"Is that person dead?" Voldemort asked again.
I don't know, I left after I bit him.
Voldemort stroked Nagini's head, his expression unreadable.
Another chilling silence followed.
"Is that person dead?"
Even with Lucius's skillful maneuvering, he didn't give an answer immediately. They came back to apologize, unaware of whether the person was dead or not.
Seeing that no one spoke, Thea slowly stepped forward. "When I came back, I sent a few people to keep watch outside St. Mungo's Hospital. We should have news soon."
Hearing Thea's words, Voldemort's mood improved slightly.
Although his subordinates are somewhat incompetent, thankfully, his daughter is quite intelligent.
Thinking of this, his gaze subtly swept over Lucius.
Lucius felt a chill run down his spine when Thea finished speaking, sensing that his job was about to be in jeopardy, even though he had people in St. Mungo's too!
“Thea,” Voldemort didn’t want to argue with his men any longer, “you’re the one who had these documents brought back. What you do with them is up to you.”
Thea obediently agreed.
"Also, remember to go back to Hogwarts for class tomorrow."
Now, Thea couldn't hide the surprise on her face either.
It's already 9 a.m.!
If she has to go to class tomorrow, it means she only has about 10 hours to process these documents!
Seeing the utter devastation on Thea's face, Voldemort said with a hint of pleasure, "You can use the fireplace to reach Severus's office."
Thea immediately perked up, and at Voldemort's urging, she took the documents to another office.
The moment she closed the door, the sound of the Cruciatus Curse striking her body, along with a scream, reached her ears.
Thea's hands didn't tremble at all; she steadily floated the pile of documents toward her destination.
She wasn't surprised by the outcome; given Voldemort's temperament, the fact that he had waited until now to make his move was already beyond her expectations.
Looking at the clear blue sky outside, Thea smiled slightly.
Great, I survived again today!

Before Thea returned to school, she had already handed over the task of sorting the documents to Lucius, and they agreed that once they were sorted, he would send them to her one by one by owl.
What others see as junk, Thea finds in it many things she needs.
She could discern from the official replies regarding the magical creatures that caused harm that she could use, and which she could use to kill people.
From those financial approvals from various departments, she could see the financial situation of the Ministry of Magic;
Even from a minor personnel change, Thea could glean information to fill in her Ministry of Magic relationship chart.
Instead of deducing ambiguous relationships from snippets of conversation, it's better to look directly at job changes and recommendation lists. Tangible benefits are more reliable than any kind words.
While she was reading the report, Nagini sneaked in.
【What's up?】
Thea bent down and touched its head; it was ice-cold.
"Thea... I felt really strange last night..."
Nagini stammered, which was unusual, so Thea quickly reassured her, "What's strange? Have you discovered something?"
Nagini rubbed against Thea's leg and continued, "I feel like I'm not myself..."
It feels like there's another person inside me...
Nagini's words were vague, but Thea sensed something from them, and her expression became serious.
Have you mentioned this to your father?
No... I don't know how to say it...
"Go!" Thea said decisively. "Go tell your father about this. He'll definitely know what's going on!"
Watching Nagini's departing figure, Thea thought to herself:
Anyway, Nagini can tell her today, and maybe he can tell Voldemort tomorrow. Rather than letting Voldemort become suspicious of him later, it's better to bring this up now.

The next day, two young wizards arrived at the fireplace in Snape's office.
Good morning, Professor Snape.
Good morning, professor.
Looking at the little brat who had kept him waiting for an hour, Snape's lips twitched slightly. Recalling yesterday's Daily Prophet, Snape wished he could kick that ticking time bomb out of the school!
Has Dumbledore gone mad?
A madwoman who dared to blow up the Ministry of Magic in fifth grade, and he still hasn't expelled her from school? Isn't he afraid that one day she'll blow up Hogwarts too?
Because the disdain and speechlessness in Snape's eyes were so obvious, Thea and Draco had no choice but to run out of the office. They didn't want to be cut into potion ingredients by Snape!
