González's teeth were grinding together.

"I know that octopus monster..."

Just then, Nami stepped in.

The pirates' eyes all fell on Nami—she was dressed as a Barbie doll, with measurements of 86-51-86, and an extremely hot figure.

Do you want to know?

Nami pouted her cute little lips, and the pirates instantly forgot their earlier tension, staring at Nami with lustful eyes.

"If the upper beam is crooked, the lower beam will be crooked too." Nami thought disdainfully.

"Miss, do you know that young man?"

Gonzak asked Nami.

"Unfortunately, that thing wasn't an octopus, but a piece of eraser."

“Rubber?” Angell was taken aback.

"Yes. The legendary Devil Fruit."

Devil Fruit?

Upon hearing those two words, the pirates' expressions changed.

An eerie silence enveloped them. The word "Devil Fruit" seemed like a curse, robbing them of their voices and language; all the pirates fell silent.

"What's his name?"

"Luffy, what's wrong?" Luffy, Monkey.

"friend?"

"Why? We're just adrift at sea, we don't have any connection."

"Nami answered," Nami replied. A wicked thought seemed to flicker in her eyes.

"Dear lady, please tell us what's going on with this rubber man."

González said in a meaningful tone.

"Nami, call me Nami. Don't call me 'Miss' or 'Miss' like that."

"Nami said with dissatisfaction. Gonzak shrugged, perhaps intimidated by the fierceness the girl inadvertently revealed."

“There’s one more thing,” Nami said, reaching out to pull off the lace from her collar.

"I want to change into a scary outfit."

"Become a pirate!"

A young, immature voice.

A pirate ship was moored at the bow of the harbor. A smug little boy held a small knife he had somehow acquired and was waving it around triumphantly.

"Luffy, what are you doing?"

"Hahaha!" Nami burst into laughter.

"What is Luffy trying to do?!"

The little boy was greeted with enthusiastic cheers from the pirates. A pirate flag flew over their ship, depicting a skull with three scars over its left eye. What a carefree bunch!

"Being a pirate is no joke! I'd like to see just how determined you really are!"

The pirates shouted. Suddenly, the little boy raised his knife and stabbed it towards his left cheek.

"Ah!" A scream rang out.

"What are you doing?"

The pirates ran towards the little boy in a panic.

"Idiot!" everyone yelled. The little boy was pushed to the ground, the knife in his hand falling to the floor. His wound throbbed with pain, blood gushing out. The little boy was startled, but still smiled nonchalantly.

"I'm not afraid of a little injury! Jax! You have to take me with you on your next voyage! I want to be a pirate!"

"It's obvious," the little boy pleaded. There was a bandage on his left cheek—he had just cut himself.

"Heh! Kid, do you want to be a pirate?"

A pirate sat at the tavern counter, laughing heartily. He had three scars over his left eye; he must be the captain of the pirate ship anchored in the harbor! She had long, fiery red hair and wore a straw hat.

"I can fight! My fists are like a musket!"

The little boy puffed out his chest and bent his arms hard to show off his muscles.

"Huh, really?"

The red-haired pirate didn't take him seriously at all. He gently stroked the little boy with his right hand while continuing to pour wine with his left.

"What I said is true!"

"However, you are still too young. I will consider it when you are at least ten years old."

"Damn it! You nasty Jacks! I'm not a child anymore!"

The little boy shouted angrily.

"The Gum-Gum Fruit! A treasure of the sea, also known as the 'Devil Fruit'! After eating it, you'll become a rubber superhuman! You'll never be able to swim again! Luffy, (Zhao as in Zhao), who are you?"

The red-haired pirate was devastated.

"Ah—you must be kidding me!"

"Idiot! It's the one you stole the food from!"

The little boy looked bewildered and shocked, his mind a complete mess.

I regret eating it before others.

And so, the little boy became a rubber man and never learned to swim again.

"Awooo... Awooo! Help me..."

The little boy sank into the sea, and a huge creature lunged at him.

With a snap, the sea monster bit down, and just as the boy was about to be swallowed, a pair of strong and powerful arms lifted him up.

“Oh, Jacks.”

"Get out of my way!" Nami shouted.

The red-haired pirate glared at the sea monster.

Chapter 319: Luffy, stop arguing!

His sharp gaze and powerful aura were so overwhelming that even sea monsters had to give him a wide berth. With a splash, the sea monster plunged into the water and fled.

"Woooooooo..."

The little boy started to cry. Perhaps he had just recovered from the fear of death; he was still in shock, and tears streamed down his face.

"Okay, stop crying...Aren't you a man?"

The red-haired pirate gently patted the little boy's head.

“However, Jacks…”

The little boy choked up and couldn't say a word.

"Hmm..." Nami nodded.

“An arm!” Regner muttered to himself.

The pirate who was stroking the little boy only had one arm left. His other arm was missing; it had been bitten off by a sea monster.

The little boy finally understood how terrifying the ocean was, and also realized his own naivety.

There is also the pain of hurting a friend because of one's own mistakes.

"Luffy, do you still want to be a pirate?"

The red-haired pirate, with a missing arm, was teasing the little boy as usual.

710 "No problem! One day, I will gather people who are on par with Jacks and go to find the world's greatest treasure... Behold! I am the Pirate King!"

"Heh... Is this guy going to surpass us?"

The red-haired pirate smiled knowingly and placed a straw hat on the little boy's head.

"Alright, my dear hat is yours now. Remember, you must return it to me once you become a great pirate."

That day, the pirate flag with three scars on its left eye left the port.

Leave an irreplaceable dream for the little boy.

The sea is surging, and time is passing.

This happened ten years ago.

The boy dreamed of this scene countless times.
