Chapter 139 Vegeta and Zarbon
Chapter 139 Vegeta and Zarbon
In the vast skies of Namek, Sabo flew at breakneck speed, his brow furrowed, his eyes revealing both anxiety and greed. As he flew, he muttered to himself in frustration, "What terrible luck! This combat power detector is broken. If it were still intact, finding those Namekian villages would be a piece of cake. Now, we're just wandering around like headless chickens!"
In the blink of an eye, a dark shadow flashed past Sabo's left, hurtling towards him like a shooting star with a long tail. The shadow was incredibly fast; Sabo didn't even realize it was almost upon him before his face turned deathly pale, his eyes filled with terror. When he finally saw that it was Vegeta, his heart skipped a beat, and a sense of foreboding washed over him. Vegeta, like a cannonball, showed no sign of slowing down, hurtling straight into Sabo.
With a muffled thud, the two bodies collided heavily. The powerful impact sent them flying backward, gliding briefly in the air before they managed to regain their footing and cautiously distanced themselves from each other.
Vegeta wore a cold smile, his eyes gleaming with excitement, like a predator eyeing its prey. He spoke coldly, "Long time no see, Sabo! Hmph, I've finally got you all alone. Just now, I sent Dodoria to his doom. Now, it's your turn!"
Upon hearing this, Sabo's face instantly changed from fear to shock. His eyes widened like saucers, and he cried out in a trembling voice, "You...you actually killed Dodoria? How is that possible!"
Vegeta scoffed dismissively, a smug smile playing on his lips. "What's impossible? I've endured countless arduous battles during this time, and my fighting power has undergone a complete transformation. Things are different now!"
Zarbon forced himself to calm down, his face grim as he looked at Vegeta, his tone laced with anger and doubt as he questioned, "Vegeta, why did you betray Frieza? Don't you know the consequences of betraying him?"
A flash of determination and hatred crossed Vegeta's eyes as he gritted his teeth and said, "Hmph, it's simple. I've disliked Frieza for a long time!"
Vegeta's voice was low and hoarse, yet carried a resolute power that resonated through the air. He paused, took a deep breath, and his eyes revealed a hint of resentment and humiliation: "For so many years, although I have been forced to obey his every command like a lowly servant under his disgusting tyranny, my heart has never truly yielded!" Vegeta clenched his fists tighter, and veins bulged on his forehead, as if recalling the injustices and oppression he had suffered in the past.
Zarbon stared at Vegeta with a grim expression, arms crossed, a mocking sneer on his face, seemingly laughing at Vegeta's overestimation of his abilities. However, Vegeta remained unfazed. A confident and ambitious smile spread across his face as he continued, "But all that is about to change! Ever since I stumbled upon a secret that could overturn everything—the secret of immortality—I knew my chance had come! If I can live forever, I will defeat Frieza sooner or later!" A fanatical light shone in Vegeta's eyes, a light as brilliant and dazzling as the brightest star in the night sky.
Upon hearing this, Sabo's heart skipped a beat. The cold smile on his face vanished instantly, and he stared intently at Vegeta, blurting out, "Are you talking about... the Dragon Balls?"
Vegeta threw his head back and laughed, his laughter filled with untamed pride and heroic spirit. He spread his arms wide as if to embrace the sky, and shouted, "Hahaha, that's right! It's the Dragon Balls! I will not be trapped under Frieza's control forever! As long as I can gather the Dragon Balls and gain the power of immortality, I will have enough time to train and improve my strength. At that time, I will make Frieza pay a terrible price for everything he has done!" Vegeta's eyes burned with a raging fire of revenge, a fire so intense it seemed capable of turning the entire world to ashes.
Sasabo sneered, his eyes filled with contempt and disdain: "Although you keep saying that you've become stronger, you have no idea what Frieza's true strength is. His power now is far beyond what it was on Planet Frieza. He has become even stronger and more terrifying. You're courting death!"
Vegeta's face darkened further, his eyes blazing with fury that seemed to ignite the surrounding air. He gritted his teeth and said, "Stop spouting nonsense! Dodoria told me everything before he died. That coward Frieza destroyed our Planet Vegeta because he was afraid that we Saiyans would grow up and threaten his position. I will avenge this blood feud with him sooner or later!"
Sabo curled his lip in disdain, letting out a cold snort from his nose: "How utterly foolish! What Frieza fears is the united and ever-growing Saiyan race, not a pathetic lone wolf like you. You think you can stand against King Frieza all by yourself? What a pipe dream!"
Vegeta was completely enraged by Zarbo's words. His reason seemed to be completely consumed by anger, his eyes turned bloodshot, and he roared like a mad beast, "Enough! Stop talking nonsense, I'll show you just how powerful the Saiyans really are!"
Vegeta's lips curled into a cold smile, his figure vanishing like a ghost, instantly appearing behind Zarbon. He lashed out with his right leg, sending Zarbon flying with tremendous force. Before Zarbon could regain his footing, Vegeta was already behind him again, as if by magic. Zarbon was no ordinary opponent; sensing Vegeta's presence, he immediately used his high-speed movement, disappearing from his spot and reappearing a short distance away. His right hand was raised high, a dazzling energy wave rapidly condensing in his palm before surging towards Vegeta.
Seeing this, Vegeta's cold smile deepened, his gaze fixed on the oncoming energy wave. Just as the energy wave was about to touch him, his left hand shot out with lightning speed, and with a sudden swing, he easily deflected the surging energy wave. Sabo, witnessing this, couldn't help but widen his eyes, his face filled with shock, secretly thinking that Vegeta's strength had already reached such a formidable level.
