Chapter 7, the exercise begins, Kakashi's surprise.
With the sun high in the sky, under the shade of a tree in the scorching heat, three figures leaned back to back, drowsy and half asleep.
"Hey! Good morning, you three..."
Suddenly, Kakashi's lazy voice rang out, instantly waking the three dazed Ishikawas.
"Kakashi-sensei..."
Seeing Kakashi strolling leisurely with his backpack, the three of them immediately responded in unison.
"You guys aren't going to ask me why I'm so late?" Kakashi asked calmly, his gaze sweeping over the three of them.
While obedient subordinates are good, they are not his standard for judging whether someone is qualified.
On the contrary, he actually disliked this kind of rigid, rule-bound ninja. It was too standard, just like he used to be…
[Oh no! We have to do something about this.] Ishikawa was startled when he saw this, and after glancing at his two bewildered underlings, he immediately stepped forward.
"There must be a reason for being late! Whether it's a mission that delayed us, being secretly observed, or even just oversleep or something even more outrageous, it's all acceptable."
"However, the three of us believe that the teacher has his own reasons for being late, and that's enough!"
"Yes, that's it."
"We believe in Kakashi-sensei..."
Taro Yamada and Jiro Hei nodded in agreement, their eyes filled with affirmation and gratitude as they looked at Ishikawa.
This guy's nickname isn't for nothing; he really steps up when things get tough!
"Trust me??" Kakashi looked at Ishikawa, who was staring straight ahead, quite surprised. He hadn't expected the other party to flatter him so much.
Although there are still some traces of sophistry, it can be considered a passable result!
At least, the three of them were in agreement...
"Well, I'm sorry to disappoint you! I just overslept and forgot the time." Suddenly, Kakashi's lips curled up slightly as he uttered a surprising statement.
"I forgot!!" Taro and Jiro were instantly petrified, never expecting such an outrageous reason.
Meanwhile, Ishikawa, standing between the two, twitched at the corner of his mouth, somewhat speechless at Kakashi's perverse sense of humor...
Even saying you were blocked by a black cat would be better than this! Are extras destined to be treated so dismissively and ignored?
"Alright, let's announce the rules of the exercise now." Looking at the three bewildered people in the wind, Kakashi, his mood in turmoil, took out an alarm clock and turned to place it on the wooden stake.
Then he took out two familiar bells, saying, "Today's survival exercise is this. You have to grab these two bells from me before noon."
"The person who gets the bell will get a boxed lunch that I brought, and the one who doesn't get one will be tied to a wooden stake and punished."
"Furthermore, I permit you to use any means necessary, with the intention of killing me..."
"Finally, those who didn't manage to grab the bell have to go back to school and study again."
Under the strange and frightened gazes of Taro and Jiro, Kakashi slowly announced the assessment task.
"So that's why they don't let us eat breakfast!"
"Kakashi-sensei is so cunning, he actually tricked us like that."
Subconsciously touching their empty stomachs, the two younger brothers finally couldn't help but start complaining.
But deep down, a shadow fell over the decision to go back to school and repeat a year...
"Yes, that's it. Let's begin!" Kakashi said bluntly, showing the two of them his shamelessness once again.
"Taro, Jiro..." Upon hearing Kakashi's order, Ishikawa immediately called out and ran towards the nearby bushes.
The two younger brothers didn't say much and immediately followed, disappearing into the dense bushes that were as tall as a person.
"These three guys are interesting..." Kakashi murmured, a hint of interest creeping into his eyes as he watched the three Ishikawas who weren't fighting amongst themselves.
At least, they look much better than the three guys from the previous year.
On the other side, inside the bushes.
"Big brother, what should we do now?" Yamada Taro asked, turning his head to look at Kakashi outside through a gap in the bushes.
"Kakashi-sensei is a Jonin. There's no way the three of us can snatch the bell from him!" Ishikawa said, feigning nonchalance, and then reached out to stop Hei Jiro from speaking.
“However, with our previous preparations, it’s not impossible! You two do this…” Ishikawa glanced in the direction of the trap and quickly whispered instructions.
Anyway, it's just a formality, and no matter what strength they use, Kakashi will go easy on them.
The key to passing the test lies in who gets the bells!
"But brother, how are we going to divide the bells? There are three of us, but only two bells. The person without a bell will go hungry and have to go back to school for another year!" Just as they were about to take action, Yamada Taro suddenly asked anxiously.
"Idiot, do you remember our promise? Of course, we'd share the good fortune and split the lunchboxes equally." Hei Jiro scolded without hesitation in a low voice, then gave an awkward laugh. "However, I still haven't figured out what to do with the bell..."
It would be so embarrassing if I were to be sent back to repeat a year!
Although they had previously agreed to stand together through thick and thin, when this choice actually came to them, they couldn't help but feel unwilling.
They didn't want to give up being a ninja, but they also didn't have the face to ask someone to quit voluntarily...
"Haha, of course I'm here! How can the older brother let his younger brother sacrifice his future?" Ishikawa waved his hand dismissively at the two of them, not blaming them for not being loyal enough.
If he didn't know the truth about the assessment, he might have made the same choice when faced with two underlings who only existed in his memory.
This is the stark reality, and also the ultimate temptation that goes straight to the heart!
"Big brother, me too..."
"I'm the weakest among them, so I'll give up!"
Almost the instant Ishikawa opened his mouth, the two underlings were filled with shame and gritted their teeth, shouting.
It's incredibly embarrassing to contradict yourself now, having made a vow this morning!
Seeing that his underlings still had some chance of being saved, Ishikawa breathed a sigh of relief and his expression softened. "Taro, Jiro, don't overthink it. I'm the strongest; even if I have to go back, I can still graduate next year. But it's different for you guys!"
"Don't be so coy. If you acknowledge me as your older brother, then listen to me. If you feel bad about it, then let me have a hearty meal of the boxed lunch later."
"Alright, enough talk! I'll lead the attack, you guys provide support. Let's begin the battle..." Under the grateful and ashamed gazes of his two underlings, Ishikawa gave the order and charged out of the bushes to launch the attack.
Whoosh...
Three shuriken, shaped like projectiles, pierced the sky and headed straight for Kakashi's face.
"Is it finally starting?" Kakashi's eyes flashed with a strange light. He casually caught three shuriken with a flick of his wrist, and at the same time, he burst into existence behind Ishikawa at high speed by pushing off the ground.
With both hands, the Yin Seal was quickly formed, ready to be unleashed!
【This is!!】
In a flash, Ishikawa caught a glimpse of Kakashi's movements out of the corner of his eye, his anus tightened, a chill ran down his spine, and he broke out in a cold sweat...
Without hesitation, Ishikawa's chakra exploded beneath his feet, shattering the ground with a deafening boom as he left his spot.
"Huh??" Kakashi, wielding the Thousand Years of Death, froze and turned his head in surprise as he watched Ishikawa's retreating figure.
To think he possesses such chakra control skills, is he a genius?
"Don't even think about hurting Big Brother..."
"Watch how awesome we are, Kakashi-sensei!"
Almost at the same moment Kakashi was stunned, Tarojiro shouted and threw several kunai shuriken at him from both sides.
