“It looks like…” Kasumigaoka Utaha narrowed her eyes, looking at the brightly lit area in the distance, “a festival?”
Yuto Itsuka stopped a young couple who were passing by and politely asked, "Excuse me, is there any event going on up ahead?"
The couple stopped and replied with a smile, "Yes, there's a summer festival at the Otonashi Shrine up ahead tonight. Are you here to participate too?"
A festival to cool off in the summer?
The four exchanged glances, their eyes revealing interest.
"Thank you." Yuto thanked them, then turned to his companions. "Want to go take a look?"
"Of course I'm going!" Eriri immediately exclaimed excitedly. "It's a festival! It's a summer festival!"
“Oh my, Sawamura-kun recovered so quickly! He’s full of energy as soon as we talk about having fun,” Utaha said.
"Where's Kato?" Yuto asked, looking at Megumi.
"That sounds interesting." Hui nodded slightly.
After the decision was made, new problems arose.
"But...we didn't bring any yukatas. It's obvious we won't make it in time to buy some now." Eriri looked at the pedestrians around her wearing various yukatas, her tone filled with obvious regret.
Attending a summer festival without wearing a yukata always feels like something's missing.
"The hotel should provide them, right?" Shiyu said. "Hotels of the Tokai-kan level usually provide yukatas for their guests."
"Then let's hurry back and change!" Eriri immediately grabbed Yuto Itsuka's sleeve and hurriedly walked back.
Back at the hotel, after asking at the front desk, I found that they did indeed offer yukatas for rent, and there were quite a few styles to choose from.
Yuto Itsuka doesn't care much about yukatas; he just picked a navy blue striped one and quickly changed back in his room.
Men's yukatas are very easy to wear; you can just tie the belt casually.
He went to the corridor to wait, and not long after, the door to the girl's room next door was opened.
The first one to come out was Megumi Kato.
She chose a light pink yukata with a morning glory pattern, and a pale yellow sash. Her hair was simply tied back, revealing her fair nape.
Her overall outfit was fresh and elegant, perfectly matching her temperament.
"Itsuka-kun, how about this one?" Kato Megumi asked, turning halfway around in place.
“It suits you perfectly,” Yuto Itsuka praised sincerely.
Next to emerge was Kasumigaoka Utaha.
When she appeared in the corridor, Yuto's breath caught in his throat for a moment.
Shiyu chose a dark purple yukata with large white lilies printed on it, and a bright red sash.
This yukata perfectly accentuated her mature and voluptuous figure, and paired with her long black hair and snow-white skin, it exuded a bewitching yet dangerous charm.
"Hey junior, are you stunned?" Shiyu walked up to Yuto, leaned down slightly, and a playful smile appeared on her lips.
"Do you need me to help you fasten your belt? The way you're tying it is too casual; it'll come undone easily."
As she spoke, she made a gesture as if to reach out and undo Yuto's belt.
"No need, I can do it myself." Itsuka Yuto quickly took a step back, avoiding her hand.
"How heartless," Shiyu sighed, feigning resentment.
"You two! What are you doing!"
An exasperated voice came from the room; Eriri had finally made her appearance.
She was wearing a white yukata with a red goldfish pattern, and a bright yellow sash.
Her blonde hair was piled up high and adorned with a small silk flower hair accessory.
To be fair, this outfit is very cute and full of youthful energy.
However, standing next to Kasumigaoka Utaha, she appears somewhat... immature.
"Pfft." Shiyu couldn't help but laugh out loud. "Sawamura-kun, your outfit makes you look like a kid on Children's Day."
"W-What did you say!" Eriri jumped up in anger. "This is cute! Your old-fashioned outfit is weird!"
"Really? But the way you looked at me just now, Junior, didn't say that." Utaha gave Yuuto a provocative look.
Yuto pretended not to hear and looked at Kato Megumi: "Kato-san, let's go."
"Okay." Hui nodded and took the lead towards the stairs.
"Hey! Yuto! Wait for me!" Eriri hurriedly chased after him, her wooden clogs making a "clack-clack-clack" sound as she stepped on the wooden floor.
……
Otonashi Shrine is not far from Tokaikan, just a ten-minute walk away.
Even before reaching the shrine entrance, you could already feel the lively atmosphere.
The approach to the temple was lined with red and white lanterns, and the air was filled with the aroma of takoyaki, yakisoba, and grilled squid, mixed with the rhythm of taiko drums and the noise of people.
"Wow! It's so lively!" Eriri's eyes sparkled as she excitedly looked around like a child.
"Sawamura-kun, be careful not to get lost," Utaha reminded him from behind. "Otherwise, my junior will have to go through the trouble of looking for you again."
"No way!" Eriri turned around and made a face, then naturally walked to Yuto's side and grabbed his sleeve.
Yuto glanced at her but said nothing.
Kato Megumi walked quietly on the other side, curiously looking at the surrounding stalls.
"Where should we start?" Yuto asked.
"I want candied apples! And chocolate bananas!" Eriri immediately pointed to two stalls not far away.
"You can still eat sweets after just finishing dinner?" Shiyu asked skeptically.
"Sweets are stored in another stomach!" Eriri said matter-of-factly.
Yuto Itsuka smiled and said, "Let's go, buy whatever you want to eat."
He walked up to the stall and bought Eriri a candied apple. The bright red candy coating on the apple looked especially tempting under the light.
Eriri took the candied apple, took a happy bite, and squinted her eyes in satisfaction.
"Kato-kun, what do you want?" Yuto turned to ask Megumi.
“Hmm…I want to try that.” Hui pointed to a stall selling “monogatari” (Japanese rolled omelet).
"Junior, I want one too." Shiyu pointed to the grilled squid stall, "I want the largest portion."
Yuto resigned himself to queuing, and soon his hands were full of various foods.
The four of them ate and strolled around, weaving through the crowded streets.
The festival stalls were diverse, including not only food but also various game stalls such as goldfish scooping, shooting, and ring toss.
"Ah! It's shooting!" Eriri's eyes lit up as she pointed to a shooting booth filled with all sorts of prizes. "Yuto, let's go play that!"
She clearly still remembered Yuto's amazing arrow at Mount Omuro that morning.
“Okay.” Yuto also became interested.
They walked up to the shooting booth, where the owner enthusiastically greeted them: "Come try your luck! Ten bullets for five hundred yen! There's a prize if you hit the target!"
The stalls were filled with all sorts of prizes, from inexpensive snacks to exquisite dolls, and even game consoles.
"I want that!" Eriri pointed to a giant capybara doll displayed at the very top. "It's the one we saw at the zoo!"
The boss glanced at it and laughed, "Young lady, you have a good eye. That's the grand prize; you need to hit it on all ten shots to win."
"Ten shots, all hits?" Eriri stuck out her tongue and looked at Yuto. "Yuto, can you do that?"
"I'll give it a try." Yuto paid and picked up the air gun.
This air rifle has very poor accuracy and handling; it's completely different from the bow and arrow we used this morning.
He aimed at a small snack on the bottom shelf and pulled the trigger.
"Bang." The cork bullet flew out, grazing the edge of the target.
Missed the target.
"Oh dear..." Eriri exclaimed in disappointment.
"Oh my, it seems my junior's 'Sharpshooter' skill is still on cooldown," Shiyu said with a laugh from the side.
Could it be because he didn't receive the divine power of the great hero Guo Jing? Yudou was a little skeptical, so he ignored her, adjusted his posture, and aimed again.
"Bang." "Bang." "Bang."
Several shots were fired in succession, and although no more shots missed, only a few small prizes were hit.
The ten bullets were quickly used up, and all they got in return were two bags of cheap potato chips.
"It wasn't that easy after all." Yuto put down his gun.
“I’ll give it a try.” Kasumigaoka Utaha was eager to try. She paid and picked up the gun.
"Sawamura-kun, you want that capybara, right? Watch me shoot it down for you."
"Hmph, you think you can?" Eriri expressed her doubt.
Shi Yu squinted one eye, her expression focused.
"Bang." The first shot hit the tag of a medium-sized doll.
"Oh? Not bad." 亻尔咎泣liu诌翼陕坝陸五河悠斗 was somewhat surprised.
Shiyu smiled smugly and continued shooting.
Her aim was surprisingly good; she hit seven targets out of ten bullets and won a nice plush toy in return.
"How about it, Sawamura-kun? Do you want me to give this to you?" Utaha waved the toy in front of Eriri.
"Who cares!" Eriri retorted stubbornly, but her eyes couldn't help glancing at the giant capybara doll.
"Kato-kun, do you want to give it a try?" Yuto asked Megumi.
Hui shook her head: "I'm not very good at this."
"Boss, ten more shots, please." Yuto once again pulled out his wallet.
"Yuto, do you want to play again?" Eriri was a little worried that he would waste money.
"It's alright, we have to take some decent loot back with us." Yuto smiled and picked up his gun again.
This time, he didn't rush to fire, but instead took a deep breath—Great Hero Guo Jing! Grant me strength!
Then, recalling the feel of the gun just now, he adjusted the muzzle offset.
"Bang." The first shot hit.
"Bang." The second shot hit.
He seemed to enter a wonderful state, the surrounding noise gradually fading away, and only his goal remained in his eyes.
"Bang." "Bang." "Bang."
Five shots in a row, all hitting the target.
The stall owner's expression changed from relaxed to surprised, and tourists gradually gathered around.
"Amazing..." Eriri held her breath, her hands clenched tightly in front of her chest.
Kasumigaoka Utaha also put away her teasing expression and looked at Yuto intently.
"Bang." The tenth shot.
The bullet hit the grand prize label precisely.
"Hit! All ten shots hit!" A cheer erupted from the crowd.
The shop owner was dumbfounded, but still readily took down the giant capybara plush toy: "Wow, impressive, buddy! Here you go!"
Yuto took the doll, turned around and handed it to Eriri.
"for you."
"Wow—!" Eriri cheered, rushing forward to hug the plush toy, almost hugging Yuto as well. "Yuto! You're amazing!"
Her face flushed with excitement, and her deep blue eyes sparkled in the lamplight.
