Chapter 37 Seele
Chapter 37 Seele
Natasha agreed to let Cloud meet Seele.
Before this, Yunzhi imagined what Seele might look like.
Seele from Honkai Impact 3rd has always been very gentle and likes Bronya very much. Although they are from different worlds, thinking about it, there shouldn't be too much difference between them...
Yunzhi had prepared a specific tone to use when facing Seele, without considering what he would do if Seele was different from Honkai Impact 3rd.
When Yunzhi saw Seele standing in front of her with a resolute expression, all she wanted to do was cover her face with her hands.
It's so different!
"Dr. Natasha, I've arrived."
A spirited purple-haired girl pushed open the clinic door and strode in: "Is this the person who wanted to see me?"
She leaned closer and carefully examined the person's clothing and appearance: "From the upper district?"
He strode in at breakneck speed, setting off a wave of "Master" style.
Yun admitted that he had crashed for a moment.
He was really not used to the gentle and kind Seele suddenly becoming like this!
Despite his discomfort, Yunzhi still answered her question: "It is the universe. I am an anonymous visitor from [Exploration]. I have some questions to ask you."
Not the upper level area?
Having also heard of extraterrestrial visitors, Seele's hostility towards Cloud lessened somewhat.
"What do you want to ask?" His tone softened slightly, no longer sharp.
"It's not a difficult question to answer. In your memory, did you see this girl when you were in the orphanage?"
Yunzhi took out his phone and brought up Bronya's portrait.
Of course, this isn't the Bronya from this place; Yunzhi has never seen the Bronya here.
The little loli Bronya from Honkai Impact 3 should look similar to the Bronya here, at least Seele doesn't look that different.
Seele lowered her head and looked at the picture carefully.
—It's obviously drawn by a person, but the figure does look somewhat familiar.
Previously, in the orphanage...
That's a distant memory now; the orphanage has sunk along with the Rift into Rivet Town, where monsters roam freely.
When asked who it was, Seele couldn't really remember. Although she felt the person was very familiar, she still shook her head.
"I only have a vague impression. She might have been from an orphanage, but I can't remember who she is, and I haven't seen anyone similar in the lower districts."
Seele pondered for a moment, then nodded affirmatively: "That's right, but if you can provide a name or something, I should be able to recognize it."
"Ah...then there's no point in hoping for it."
Yun put away her phone: "This is Bronya. She used to be a child from the Lower District Orphanage, and now she is the daughter of the High Guardian."
Natasha's expression remained unchanged.
But the chili pepper version of Seele immediately exploded.
"What did you say?"
Seele took a few steps forward, her face contorted with anger: "Are you saying that a child from the lower classes, once she becomes a high-ranking lady, can turn a blind eye to the suffering of those in the lower classes?"
Yun had no doubt that if it weren't for a little bit of politeness, Xier would have grabbed his collar.
It's not surprising, though; what he just said was indeed too easy to misunderstand.
Therefore, it's best to make things clear first.
"She's just the Great Guardian's adopted daughter. Besides, she's been raised for so long, she should trust the Great Guardian quite a bit. Even if she feels that sealing off the lower districts is wrong emotionally, she still habitually believes that the Great Guardian has some kind of deeper meaning or something."
It's not like there's anything wrong with this; anyone would have done the same.
The habitual trust in the mother who raised him, the habitual belief in everything she did, did not yield good results, but they were reasonable nonetheless.
But clearly, Seele didn't buy this explanation.
"Habit? How many children in the lower classes have died because of this so-called habit? It's just her irresponsible excuse!"
Seele, with her fiery temper, had a bad impression of Bronya from the very beginning.
Yunzhi felt that he was truly guilty.
It's not a good time to defend Bronya now; Yunzhi knows very well that if she continues down this path, she'll only make things worse.
Why not... bring Bronya over first and let the two of them talk?
No, he seems to be overly confident in the bond between Seele and Bronya.
No, no, that shouldn't be.
Perhaps it's because Old Yang from Honkai Impact 3rd traveled here that he sees the same person in the same position.
"Don't think she's having an easy time. Under the influence of that thing, the expansion of the rift is enough to give the Silvermane Iron Guards a headache."
You know, fighting those creatures isn't going to be comfortable.
"That's no reason for them to abandon the lower classes!" Seele retorted angrily. "The lower classes are already suffering enough. When those nobles are wasting food, have they ever thought about how the children in the lower classes can't even afford to eat?"
A well-fed person doesn't know the hunger of a starving person.
When Seele was a child, she went to the Upper District with Captain Oleg.
There, she saw those so-called nobles throwing away half-eaten food.
She couldn't understand it. Didn't those people know that people in the lower-class areas couldn't even afford to eat?
So she never went to the upper district again after that.
She hated that place.
"I don't know how things are in the upper districts, but I just want to find out about the High Warden's situation through Bronya."
Yun changed the subject, no longer wanting to discuss the conflicts between the upper and lower classes:
"And my partner has disappeared somewhere, maybe I can find out something through her... I'm sorry, the reason I came to find you is because I thought that if you were in the same orphanage, you might get along better."
The result was counterproductive; Seele's first impression was so bad that it was even more of a headache.
Natasha patted Seele on the shoulder and stepped forward, her gentle eyes holding a hint of scrutiny.
"Mr. Yunzhi".
She spoke slowly:
"Since you're from outer space, you probably haven't been to Belleburg before, have you?"
"Why do you know so much about the orphanage and about Seele?"
This was the strangest thing for Natasha.
Yun had anticipated that she would ask these questions and didn't think there was anything wrong with it: "It's just some unorthodox methods from my hometown, nothing serious."
Although the divination methods of the Taipusi can't be called unorthodox, explaining them on the Yalilo-6 is far too complicated.
He couldn't possibly bring out the Qiong Guan Formation just to explain the principles of divination to these two people.
There's no need to make dumplings for a dish of vinegar.
Natasha continued, "So, you're planning to let us communicate with the upper echelons?"
"I just want to get some clues about my comrades from the Silvermane Iron Guards. Someone in a high position will know more than a lowly henchman," Yun Zhi said helplessly.
He couldn't very well say that he was just curious to see if Seele and Bronya would get along like they do in Honkai Impact 3rd, could he?
Xi'er was still sulking, but she listened to what Yunzhi said.
"Seeing her isn't out of the question... but I do want to ask them why they abandoned the lower district in the first place!"
