"If it weren't for you... I and the 'Drops of God' would probably already be..."
She did not continue.
But everyone understood what she meant.
The sun was shining brightly on the deck.
The sea breeze carries the scent of distant lands.
After swallowing the warm rice porridge, Lilith's pale cheeks regained some color. She carefully put down the bowl, her hands still tightly clutching the antique wine pot, as if it were an extension of her body.
Robin took the empty bowl and said gently, "Are you feeling better? I still don't know your name."
“Lilith,” the girl answered softly, her gaze sweeping over the four people before finally settling on the wine flask in her arms. “My name is Lilith.”
"A very nice name." Robin smiled, then naturally asked, "So, Lilith, what are your plans next? Is there anywhere you want to go?"
The cabin quieted down. Sabo and Kuina looked at Lilith, and even Liu Jiu in the corner cast a calm glance at them.
Lilith took a deep breath, her fingers unconsciously stroking the cool surface of the pot, her eyes gradually hardening.
“I want to go back to Drunkard’s Island,” she said clearly.
Sabo was somewhat surprised: "Go back? You were injured like that before..."
“I must go back,” Lilith interrupted him, her voice soft but carrying an unwavering resolve. “I stole the Drops of God not just for itself, or for my father.”
She raised her head, her eyes sparkling with a maturity beyond her years.
"I want everyone on the island to be able to drink it."
This answer surprised everyone.
"Make the entire island...drink the 'Drops of God'?" Sabo repeated in confusion, "What is that?"
“You simply don’t understand.” Lilith shook her head, a bitter yet resolute smile curving her lips. “The Drops of God…everyone thinks it’s an expensive, intoxicating wine. But it’s more than just wine…”
Her gaze seemed to pierce through the cabin and reach the island enveloped in the aroma of wine.
"It's still the 'antidote'."
"Antidote?" Guina raised an eyebrow slightly.
“That’s right.” Lilith hugged the flask tighter. “Those who drink the ‘Drops of God’ will experience the ultimate flavor of alcohol. That feeling… will make them unable to tolerate the turbidity and numbing sensation of any other liquor.”
Her voice carried a strange power.
"They will find that all the drinks they used to rely on for survival and indulge in have become unpalatable, like mud."
"This life of debauchery cannot continue."
Robin seemed thoughtful: "So, you want to use this jug of wine to end the drinking habit on Drunkard's Island?"
“Yes.” Lilith nodded vigorously, her eyes burning. “The temples and priests monopolize the truth about the ‘Drops of God.’ They use cheap wine to numb everyone and maintain their rule. Only by breaking this illusion and truly awakening people can we overthrow…”
She didn't say anything more, but the meaning was clear.
Sabo looked at the thin but determined girl before him, and was deeply moved. He had initially thought it was just a story of a girl being abused by her stepmother, but he never imagined that such a heavy intention was hidden behind it.
Kuina, holding the knife, remained silent for a moment before unusually speaking up: "You have guts."
Robin nodded slightly: "A remarkable goal."
Liu Jiu, who had been silent all along, kept his eyes on Lilith and the wine flask in her arms, and in his heart he was also exclaiming, "Good heavens, we've encountered the Chen Sheng and Wu Guang uprising!"
What kind of prince will Xiangning?
Lilith looked at the four of them, her eyes pleading: "I know this request is unreasonable... but can you send me back to Drunkard Island? I have to do this."
The sea breeze poured in through the cabin windows, carrying a salty smell, and also the faint, sweet, and stale aroma of wine wafting from distant islands.
"Alright, I, Sabo, will take this job!"
Chapter 125 Arrival at the Island of Drunkards
The "Whirlwind" slowly sailed into the harbor of the Drunken Island.
Before we even reached the shore, the strong, almost tangible smell of alcohol hit us.
The ships moored in the harbor were leaning precariously, their mooring lines tangled haphazardly. The sailors weren't busy; instead, they lay in small groups on the decks and docks, snoring loudly while clutching wine barrels.
Lilith covered her conspicuous hair with an old headscarf, smeared some soot on her face, and followed closely behind Sabo, carefully wrapping the wine jug in her arms with a rag.
Sabo, Kuina, and Robin also changed into inconspicuous clothes, while Liu Jiu somehow got a tattered straw hat and put it on his head, covering most of his face.
The group had barely stepped onto the rotten wooden planks of the dock, and before they had taken ten steps, they were spotted.
A burly man, reeking of alcohol and with cloudy eyes, staggered and blocked the middle of the road, holding a half-empty bottle in his hand.
"New...new here?" he hiccuped. "Does...do you know the rules?"
He shook the bottle, his cloudy eyes straining to focus on Sabo's face.
"On...on Drunkard's Island...not drinking...is...is looking down on us!"
As he spoke, he tried to shove the bottle into Sabo's mouth.
Sabo frowned and nimbly dodged to the side.
“We don’t like drinking,” he said, trying to be polite.
"You...you don't like it?" The burly man's eyes widened even more as if he had heard something out of the blue. "Then...then what are you doing here?!"
His voice attracted even more attention.
Several equally drunk people surrounded them, their eyes filled with hostility.
"Not drinking? Here to cause trouble?"
"Let them try our specialties!"
"Drink! You're not allowed to leave until you drink!"
Bottles, glasses, and even barrels of liquor were handed to the four men.
Kuina's hand rested on the hilt of the knife, her eyes cold.
Robin frowned slightly, preparing to activate her ability.
Under the shadow of his straw hat, Liu Jiu's gaze calmly swept over the group of drunkards.
Lilith nervously gripped Sabo's clothes.
Just as conflict was about to erupt—
"Make way! Make way! What are you all doing here?!"
A middle-aged man, dressed somewhat respectably but with a flushed face, squeezed in. He wore a badge on his chest and seemed to be the port manager.
He glared at the drunkards and said, "Get lost! Don't scare away your customers!"
Then he turned to Sabo and the other three, a professional, slightly drunken smile spreading across his face:
"Is this your first time here? Don't mind them, these guys are just a little too enthusiastic."
His gaze swept over the four of them, lingering a little longer on Kuina and Robin's faces, but he quickly returned to his drunken smile.
"Since we've come all this way to the Island of Drunkards, wouldn't it be a waste of our trip if we didn't try our fine wine?"
He magically produced several small, exquisite wine glasses from behind him, filled with amber-colored liquid.
"Try this, 'Echoes of First Love,' I guarantee you'll never forget it..."
Just as Sabo was about to refuse again, Lilith gently tugged at him from behind and shook her head slightly.
Sabo understood, took the glass, but didn't drink it. He just pretended to take a sip and exclaimed, "Truly fine wine!"
Kuina and Robin followed suit.
Liu Jiu completely ignored the wine glass that was handed to him.
Seeing this, the manager didn't press the matter, and chuckled, "Are you here for fun or business? Do you need a guide? I know the island very well..."
“We’ll just wander around,” Sabo interrupted him, flicking a silver coin into the steward’s hand. “No need to trouble you.”
The manager took the money, his smile becoming even more genuine: "No problem, no problem! Please, make yourselves at home! However..."
He lowered his voice and offered a somewhat "kind" reminder:
"On the island, it's best to always have a glass of wine in your hand, just to look good. Otherwise... hehe, you'll be in constant trouble."
After saying that, he swayed away, humming an off-key tune.
Seeing that the manager had left, the drunkards became restless and tried to surround him again.
Sabo's eyes turned cold, and an invisible aura emanated from him.
The drunkards were instantly sobered up as if doused with cold water, and dispersed dejectedly.
The four of them, along with Lilith, quickly left the dock area.
Walking down the street thick with the smell of alcohol, looking at the drunken crowds on both sides, Sabo whispered to Lilith:
"It seems your task is more difficult than you imagined. Are these drunkards really reliable?"
Lilith hugged the wine jug tightly, but her eyes became even more determined.
"That's precisely why we need to change this place. My father said that once anyone on the island has tasted his brewed wine, they'll never be able to drink any other alcohol again!"
In the heart of the island of drunkards lies a spring that is under strict guard.
This is the source of fresh water for the entire island and is also the key to Lilith's plan—as long as the "Drops of God" are poured into the spring, the water flow will allow everyone on the island to drink.
However, the area around the spring is now under heavy security.
A dozen or so guards in temple uniforms were scattered around, their faces flushed, their steps unsteady, and each carrying a wine jug, yet their eyes held a numb wariness. They were clearly accustomed to carrying out missions while intoxicated.
"What do we do?" Sabo, hiding in the shadows of a distant building, observed the situation. "Should we force our way in?"
Kuina placed her hand on the hilt of her sword and shook her head slightly: "Too many people will alert the temple."
Robin pondered, "Perhaps we can create chaos and distract them..."
Lilith bit her lip nervously, clutching the wine jug in her arms even tighter.
Liu Jiu, who had been silent all along, glanced at the drunken guards and then at an inconspicuous entrance next to the spring that seemed to connect to an underground pipe.
