Nick Fury entered through the door, glanced at Coulson standing there, and spoke.
He had just received a report that all the special products Coulson brought from another universe had been destroyed along with the Quinjet, and he was so angry he wanted to curse.
Nick Fury received the notification last night and immediately assembled a team of scientists to study the otherworldly artifacts. And today Coulson tells him everything is gone? Isn't that ridiculous?
Fortunately, Coulson mentioned that, besides him, the two siblings who followed Luo Xing also bought quite a few things in the other world.
If we really want to study it, then we can only try to obtain it from the brother and sister.
“I remember you didn’t like coffee.”
Nick Fury pulled out a chair with a slight smile and sat down.
Maria Hill, who followed him in, stood aside, carefully observing and preparing to analyze Luo Xing's behavior and personality.
"Oh, this isn't coffee; I had them change it to hot cocoa."
Luo Xing took a sip, looked up, and said.
"Let's get straight to the point, I need you to join us."
Nick Fury stared at Luo Xing with his single eye.
"Fine, then I'll get straight to the point." Luo Xing clapped his hands. "I refuse."
"why?"
"I can solve your housing problem."
“These two children can be immediately enrolled in the best primary schools.”
Nick Fury pointed to Pietro and Wanda beside him and began negotiations.
"That's something you have to do, otherwise why do you think I came here?"
Luo Xing chuckled and replied.
"Then what do you want?"
Nick Fury lowered his tone and asked.
—It's been over a decade since he first conceived the idea of forming the Avengers, he's gone bald from exhaustion, and now there's not even a trace of him.
Nick Fury is completely at his wit's end. He's even desperately trying to win over the Hulk, who's wanted by the military, let alone the newly unsealed Luo Xing.
"No matter what, I will not join now."
Luo Xing shook his head. He wasn't stupid. The Avengers were all alone right now. If he joined, wouldn't he just become the only tool?
"However... we can try a different way of cooperating."
Luo Xing suddenly thought of something and spoke up.
Chapter Thirty-Six: Negotiations and Settlement
Nick Fury looked at Luo Xing, waiting for him to speak.
"You can use my name to recruit people and show off, just pay me a usage fee."
Luo Xing tapped the table with one hand and spoke to Nick Fury.
Nick Fury looked at Luo Xing, waiting for him to speak.
"You can use my name to recruit people and show off, just pay me a usage fee."
Luo Xing tapped the table with one hand and spoke to Nick Fury.
The turning point is fast approaching, and Luo Xing will likely no longer have to worry about money then, so he only needs to focus on the present.
"Go on."
Nick Fury nodded slightly.
"Gone."
"Gone?"
Nick Fury looked at Luo Xing with a surprised expression: "You mean, I have to pay you for just using your name? Who do you think you are? An international superstar?"
"Don't you think I'm more suitable to be this 'spokesperson' than an international superstar?"
Luo Xing smiled and asked in return.
Nick Fury thought about it carefully and realized that what Luo Xing said did make some sense, but he was still unwilling to give in.
"Let's not even talk about whether you're suitable or not."
Nick Fury clasped his hands together and placed them on the table: "Do you think I'm the kind of person who likes to use other people's names to show off... to be pretentious?"
"Ah."
Luo Xing nodded, and just as Nick Fury was about to speak, he raised his hand, "Wait a minute, Pietro, is it your turn to go on stage?"
"Excuse me, does the agent have a cell phone? Can I borrow it for a moment?"
Pietro looked at Hill and asked.
"Give."
"Thank you."
Pietro took Hill's phone, inserted the memory card, turned on the phone, opened play, and turned the volume up to the maximum.
"You really don't know, Nick Fury, that guy, he has the biggest pencil case I've ever seen. Doesn't he get tired of holding so many pens?"
Coulson's drunken, arrogant remarks, recorded during his drunken state, echoed in the living room, making Nick Fury's already dark face even darker.
“I think Agent Coulson would be better suited for the Siberian or African divisions,” Nick Fury said.
"Boss, don't act rashly."
Hill was both amused and exasperated by Nick Fury's words.
"I was just kidding."
Nick Fury got up, turned off the playback, and handed the phone back to Hill: "It seems Agent Coulson had a very enjoyable trip, forgetting all about the code of conduct for agents."
"That's right, he should be punished."
Hill's expression turned serious again. She was unaware that Coulson had traveled to another universe and assumed that he had let his guard down and gotten drunk in Sokovia, which is why he said those things.
"Have him report to the training department later."
Nick Fury finalized his decision to punish Coulson and turned his gaze back to Luo Xing: "So, how much are you planning to ask for?"
"One million, fixed price."
"You might as well just rob it!"
Nick Fury rolled his eyes.
Luo Xing got up and walked towards the door.
"Why are you going?"
Nick Fury was taken aback. He had only refused the first time, so why was he just leaving without even trying to negotiate?
"Go ahead and rob it! Didn't you tell me to go?"
Luo Xing shrugged innocently, then looked at Hill: "Miss, can you tell me how to get to the bank?"
"Sorry, I don't know the place, but I can show you the way to the prison."
Hill smiled and replied to Luo Xing.
"Never mind, how about this?"
Nick Fury pulled a stack of papers from behind him and placed them on the table. "You'll become our special consultant, and we'll pay you a salary, how about it?"
This contract was probably prepared a long time ago...
Luo Xing raised an eyebrow, stood up, picked up the thick stack of contracts, and began to flip through them: "Where are the salary, benefits, and job descriptions? Could you tell me?"
Nick Fury's lips twitched: "Don't worry, special advisors are usually very free. They don't need to do anything. The pay isn't very high, but it's enough for you to live on in this city."
"Row."
Luo Xing simply picked up a pen from the side and signed his name.
As for whether there are any traps in the contract... there's absolutely no need to check that.
Luo Xing believed that Nick Fury wouldn't be so foolish as to think that a contract could actually bind him.
"By the way, I've already arranged your accommodations. You can pick one."
Nick Fury walked to the side, turned on the display screen on the wall, and pressed down, projecting a city map onto it.
Countless small dots lit up on a city map, meaning that Luo Xing could choose any of these houses, including some remote villas.
"Queens, I guess."
Luo Xing thought for a moment, then walked up and tapped on a house in "Queens-County".
"I thought you would choose Manhattan."
Nick Fury glanced at Pietro and Wanda, somewhat surprised by Loxing's choice.
Manhattan is the heart of the city, the real affluent area.
"I don't like places that are too crowded."
Luo Xing scrolled through the screen, admiring the aerial view of New York. "But I also hate trouble, so Queens is just right, it's perfect."
"confirmed?"
"Nick Fury asked."
"determine."
Luo Xing nodded.
He wasn't lying, of course, but there was an even more important point: if the future didn't change, the Chitauri army would appear in the heart of Manhattan, on the Stark Tower.
To build your home on a time bomb? Only a fool would do that.
Chapter Thirty-Seven: The Driver Skye
After finishing a phone call, Nick Fury looked up at Luo Xing and asked, "Do you need a driver?"
