Chapter 20 The Chitauri Invasion - Part 1

"Boss, the search of the sea area within 10 kilometers of the explosion site has been completed, and Mr. Vega Lee has not been found."

"Continue to expand the search area."

"Boss, no one can survive a nuclear explosion of that magnitude. You should..."

"If I can survive, so can Bana, and a nuclear explosion is even less likely to harm Lee."

Seeing Monica's cold expression and slightly red eyes, Silver Sable, with her short silver-gray hair and wearing a steel suit with silver-gray and black paint, wisely shut her mouth.

Silver Sable was her code name; her real name was Silver Sablinova, and she was born in Latvia, Europe.

During World War II, her father helped the government create the Wild Army, training a group of professional soldiers to fight Nazi war criminals. After the war, the Wild Army became a burden on the country. In order to preserve her father's hard work, she worked hard to become the leader of the Wild Army and transformed it into a mercenary group, eventually making it a major source of foreign exchange for the country.

The ruler of Latvia was King Vladimir Fotunov, but the one who truly dominated the country was Ms. Monica Hilton, who stood before her.

Five years ago, Monica began investing in Latvia. For five consecutive years, she invested massive amounts of money regardless of cost, transforming Latvia, a poor and backward agricultural country with a population of only 50, into a modern developed country with a population of over 360 million.

The Wild Band also became Monica's private army, protecting her wealth and businesses scattered around the world.

Three days ago, aliens invaded the United States, and the Wild Legion, dressed in Iron Man suits, was summoned to Houston. Silver Sable originally thought that Monica had called them over to protect her or to have them fight, but little did she know that most of them were actually sent to the sea to search for her husband.

She didn't quite believe that people could survive in the center of a nuclear explosion, but since her boss believed it, she could only ignore her sisters' suffering at sea.

That's right, ladies, under her leadership, the Wild Brigade is now entirely composed of women, and they're all incredibly beautiful women. (*￣︶￣)

After reviewing the two documents and calming down, Monica put down her pen and looked at Silver Sable: "Call them back. After they've rested, you take them to protect Bana and Gwen."

Silver Sable: "Boss, I think I'll stay and protect you."

Monica can't afford to get into trouble; she doesn't want to go back to the impoverished life she used to live.

Monica shook her head: "Don't worry about me, even the Hulk can't hurt me."

She possesses powerful fire abilities, can manipulate her Iron Man suit, wears amulets with enhanced protection compared to those sold to Britain, and has many magical items for both defense and offense.

If anyone can harm her, the silver sable won't be of any help; instead, it will only become a burden to her.

"Wait here for a moment." Monica got up and walked to the lounge next to the office. She walked to the bedside, raised her left hand and closed her eyes. A moment later, a black portable safe fell out from the white ring on her ring finger, which was decorated with a pair of golden wings.

For three days, she accompanied Monica to meet many important figures that ordinary people would never know. By observing their conversations and transactions, she learned just how valuable these things were.

To put it bluntly, these things could have bought Latvian five years ago.

Monica: "No need for that. Both children have something to keep them safe. I'm just worried that they might be taken advantage of, that they might be blinded by hatred and lose their minds."

Three days ago, the Chitauri launched a massive invasion. Because military bases near New York and along the East China Sea coast, as well as Washington, were attacked by nuclear weapons, the US government was unable to deploy troops to the battlefield immediately. Most of New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania quickly fell to the enemy.

When the Chitauri occupied these areas, they destroyed military, government, law enforcement, communication, power, water, and transportation infrastructure, turning the occupied territories into lawless zones.

The occupied territories have become a living hell. Not only are the Chitauri committing massacres, but even ordinary people who have lost control have reverted to their wild and cruel nature.

The Chitauri army, currently numbering 20, is unable to expand further, while a large contingent of American troops and reinforcements are still en route. At present, there are only sporadic skirmishes, and both sides are waiting for reinforcements to arrive.

On the morning of the invasion, she followed Vega's advice and brought Bana and Gwen to Houston.

That same day, Manhattan fell and was cut off from communication. When Gwen learned of this, she wanted to return to Manhattan to seek help from her father, George, but Monica and Bana stopped her.

Doing this against a well-organized army is tantamount to suicide.

Later, the president ordered the gathering of superheroes. With Monica's protection, Gwen and Bana didn't have to go, but Gwen insisted on going, and Bana, worried about her going alone, went with her.

Vega has been missing for three days, and some people have already started spreading negative rumors. If Vega doesn't show up for a long time, some people might be tempted to do something harmful to the three of them.
