Chapter 291 Conquering Them One by One
Chapter 291 Conquering Them One by One
Sirius is quite clingy, even though he has Lupin as a very good friend.
Now that we've opened up to each other, he drags me around Hogwarts everywhere, sometimes ignoring Severus even when he's right next to me.
"When did you become so familiar with this black dog?" Severus asked curiously after he finally saw that I had tricked Sirius away.
“Severus, don’t you already know why?” I said with a smile to Severus, who had been silent the whole time.
"Is he one of them?" Severus asked.
"Yes." I've never hidden anything from Severus.
"Aside from being a bit stupid, he's barely passable," Severus said calmly.
"Hahaha." I burst out laughing when I heard Severus's comment.
"Alright, I have something to do, so I'll head back now." Severus was afraid that if he stayed any longer, he would see something he didn't really want to see.
"Don't leave so quickly. You finally managed to get Sirius away so you could get closer to him." I pulled Severus back with one hand.
Severus was pulled back by me in a bit of a panic. His face was flushed, and he was still angrily calling my name: "Ayers!"
Looking at him like that, I couldn't help but laugh.
Having finally managed to get Sirius out of the way, she wanted to spend a little more time with this guy who always pretended to be aloof.
"Don't be in such a hurry to leave, Severus." I laughed and pulled his arm, drawing him to sit down next to me.
He awkwardly adjusted his black robe, not wanting to be discovered in public.
"What exactly do you want, Ayers?" His voice was still deep, but I could detect a hint of tension in it.
"I just want to spend some time with you." I looked at him sincerely. "You know, time spent with you is always special."
His face turned even redder, and he turned away, muttering, "What's so special about it? I'm not..." He didn't finish his sentence, but I understood what he meant.
I gently took his hand, and his hand trembled slightly, but he did not pull it away.
“Severus, you are really important to me,” I whispered. “In this complicated world, only you can make me feel at ease.”
He was silent for a moment, then slowly turned his head and met my gaze.
His eyes held surprise, emotion, and a tenderness I had never seen before. "Ayers..." he whispered my name, his voice full of affection.
At that moment, time seemed to stand still.
We just stared at each other quietly, and everything around us became insignificant.
I could feel his heartbeat, intertwined with mine, as if telling the story between us.
Suddenly, footsteps sounded outside the door.
Severus seemed startled, quickly withdrew his hand, and tidied his appearance.
I smiled helplessly, knowing that good times are always fleeting.
The footsteps grew closer, the door was pushed open, and Sirius's grinning face appeared in the doorway. "Hey, I knew you two were up to something!" he teased.
Severus glared at him, stood up, and resumed his aloof demeanor.
"I'm leaving now," he said, and then hurriedly departed.
I watched his departing figure, my heart filled with reluctance.
"They're already far away, why are you still looking?" Sirius hooked his arm around Sirius.
“Severus really has a lot to do. I feel like you’re super idle.” I took his hand away with a look of disgust.
"I didn't recognize you before, so I haven't had a proper chance to explore Hogwarts with you?" Sirius instantly transformed into a pitiful puppy.
"So, are we making up for the time we missed?" I ignored Sirius and walked straight ahead.
“Yes.” Sirius followed slowly behind me.
“Sirius, you don’t have to be like this. The time we spent apart wasn’t a regret. Didn’t you make a lot of good friends during that time? I was probably just a passerby.” I turned around and looked back at Sirius.
Sirius's eyes dimmed instantly, but he stubbornly pursed his lips, strode up to me, grabbed my shoulders with both hands, and stared intently at me: "How could you say that? You've never been just a passerby. Those so-called friends don't even compare to one ten-thousandth of you in my heart."
A pang of sadness welled up inside me, but I still stubbornly said, "You did well during those days apart, didn't you? You have so many memories together." Sirius shook his head slightly, his thumb gently stroking my shoulder, as if trying to convey his feelings to me through this tender gesture: "During those days, I thought of you every single second. The outward liveliness was just a cover for the emptiness inside. My heart has always been missing a piece, and that piece is you."
His eyes were full of affection and urgency, as if he was afraid I would disappear in the next second.
"You know, I've dreamt countless times of the time we spent together, only to wake up and find you gone. The sense of loss almost overwhelms me. I regret it, I regret not finding you sooner, I regret giving you this illusion."
I turned my head away, not wanting him to see the tears welling up in my eyes: "But time can't be turned back, we've all changed." Sirius cupped my face in his hands, forcing me to look him in the eye: "People may change, but my feelings for you will never change. The days apart were like a nightmare, and now that the dream is over, how could I possibly let go of your hand again?"
His forehead gently touched mine, his voice tender yet firm: "Those past days, whether happy or sad, don't matter anymore. What matters is now, that we're standing before each other again. You are unique to me, the most precious person in my life."
I finally couldn't hold back anymore, and tears welled up in my eyes.
Sirius gently wiped away my tears, held me tightly in his arms, and whispered in my ear, "Don't push me away anymore, okay? Let's create more beautiful memories together and make up for the time we missed."
That's why I say, the white moonlight is always the best.

In the end, Sirius was called back to deal with some matters, and I was left all alone.
"You've seen everything, aren't you going to come out?" I suddenly stopped and said to the void.
It was quiet all around, and no one appeared.
"Theodore Nott, should I ask you to come out for a moment?" I asked with a smile, looking at the tree closest to me.
"Good afternoon, Senior Ayers." Theodore Nott came out carrying a thick book.
He looked somewhat shy, but his eyes held a hint of stubbornness that was hard to detect.
Looking at the book in his hands, I joked, "Theodore, this book isn't easy to read. Why are you hiding in this quiet place to read it?"
Theodore lowered his head slightly, his voice soft yet firm: "Senior, it's quiet here, suitable for contemplating the contents of the book. I'm very interested in magical theory and would like to delve deeper into it."
I nodded, quite appreciating the junior's earnestness.
"What did you just see?" I suddenly changed the subject.
"I saw it all," Theodore Nott replied without thinking.
“Oh, I saw it all.” I stared at Theodore Nott meaningfully.
“Senior…” Theodore seemed to realize he had misspoke, his eyes darting away and his voice lowering.
I looked at him, a smile still playing on my lips, but with a hint of scrutiny: "Theodore, what did you see? Why don't you tell your senior in detail?"
"Senior, are you really dating two professors at the same time?" Theodore Nott asked curiously.
I looked at Theodore Nott, my smile still present, but my scrutiny deepened.
His evasive gaze and lowered voice clearly indicated that he had realized his slip of the tongue.
His sudden question made me think.
“Theodore, what do you think?” I asked in return, without directly answering his question.
I want to see first how much this young student actually knows and what his intentions are.
Theodore hesitated for a moment, as if organizing his thoughts: "Senior, I... I saw you getting very close to the two professors before, and some of your interactions were quite intimate. Once, near the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, I saw you talking to Professor Sirius. His eyes were full of tenderness when he looked at you, and you were smiling happily. Also, in the Great Hall, I saw you and Professor Snape sometimes exchanging glances, as if you had so much to say to each other."
I nodded slightly, surprised that he was so observant.
"So you think I'm dating them?" I pressed on.
Theodore nodded quickly: "Senior, I know this may be incredible, but that's how I saw it. And at Hogwarts, everyone is always very sensitive about the relationship between professors and students, so I'm very curious."
"Is it really just curiosity?" I asked with a knowing smile.
"Yes, I'm just curious. I wonder if Senior Ayers could answer my question." Theodore didn't dare to look in my direction. Although he had lived with Senior Ayers for a while before, Senior Ayers always had a mysterious air about him that he couldn't understand.
“Yes, and I’m also very interested in you, junior.” I walked over to Theodore Nott and whispered affectionately in his ear.
Theodore's body stiffened instantly, the warm breath near his ear causing his cheeks to heat up rapidly.
He never expected Senior Ayers to say such a thing, and his mind went blank, completely unsure how to react.
"Senior..." Theodore stammered, his voice trembling slightly.
He tried to calm himself down, but Ayers was too close, and his deep, magnetic voice was lingering in his ears, making it impossible for him to concentrate.
Ayers felt a strange emotion welling up inside him as he looked at Theodore's flustered appearance.
I reached out and gently lifted Theodore's chin, making him look into my eyes.
Theodore's eyes were filled with fear and shyness, his long eyelashes trembling incessantly, like a frightened fawn.
“Theodore, don’t be afraid,” Ayers said softly, gently stroking Theodore’s cheek with his thumb.
Theodore felt his face burning and his heart pounding so hard it felt like it was going to jump out of his throat.
He wanted to avoid Ayers' gaze, but he was so captivated by those deep eyes that he couldn't look away.
"Senior, why...why are you interested in me?" Theodore asked, mustering his courage.
I smiled slightly, let go of his hand, and took a step back.
“Because you are special, Theodore,” I said earnestly. “I noticed you the first time I saw you. You have a unique quality about you, unlike anyone else. And I’m also curious whether there are some special thoughts hidden behind your curiosity about me.”
Theodore's face turned even redder, and he lowered his head, not daring to look at Ayers again.
He had to admit that he did have different feelings for Senior Ayers.
At first, he just thought that Senior Ayers was special, but as he observed more, he was gradually attracted by Senior Ayers' mystery and talent.
"Senior...I..." Theodore hesitated, unsure how to express his feelings.
I stepped forward, getting closer to Theodore again, and whispered, "It's okay, no need to answer me right away." My warm breath brushed against his ear, and the tips of his ears turned slightly red, like tiny flames being lit.
I feel like that's enough for today. I can't keep flirting like this. Being too eager will only backfire.
“These books are for you to look at; I think you’ll like them.” I took some books suitable for Theodore out of my portable bag and handed them to him.
Those books were carefully selected by me; some were about the study of mysterious magical creatures, while others were about the analysis of ancient spells—all types that I thought he would be interested in.
"Thank you, Senior Ayers." He reached out and took it, his fingers accidentally brushing against mine, and in that instant, it felt like an electric current ran through me.
A flicker of panic crossed his eyes, but he quickly regained his cool and aloof demeanor.
"I'll be going now, Theodore Nott." I smiled and turned to leave.
I just didn't see that Theodore Nott, who was standing there with the book in his hand, was already blushing.

Today was pretty good; I flirted with people everywhere, and the task progress finally started to show some results.
They were leisurely walking back to Hogwarts Castle when suddenly a platinum-haired man appeared.
"Ayers!" Draco Malfoy suddenly appeared, grabbed me, pulled me into an empty classroom, and locked the door behind me.
I'm so surprised. What's going on today? All sorts of people are coming to me for advice.
I stood silently behind Draco, waiting to see what he would do.
“Ayers, I have something to say to you.” Draco turned around, staring straight at me, his grey-blue eyes seeming to hold a fire.
