He was ready to pounce at any moment and tear this despicable human to shreds!
"You bastard! How dare you threaten Lady Tamayo!"
"Yushiro!"
Tamayo shouted sternly, "Step back!"
Yushiro bowed his head and returned to Tamayo's side.
Tamayo, struggling to process this sudden and dramatic turn of events, reluctantly gestured for Ryosuke to proceed.
Ryosuke shrugged and walked straight in.
"My name is Ryosuke Yasui," Ryosuke introduced himself.
"Mr. Yasui..."
Upon entering the house, Tamayo tentatively greeted them, "Please sit down."
She looked at Yushiro: "Yushiro, go and prepare tea."
Yushiro glared fiercely at Ryosuke, squeezing out a single word through gritted teeth:
"……Yes!"
Ryosuke looked in the direction where Yushiro had disappeared, then glanced at Tamayo's profile, and that subtle "cuckold" feeling in his heart resurfaced.
It's strange and weird, subtle and slightly enjoyable~
Only the two of them remained in the Japanese-style room.
Tamayo lowered her eyes, seemingly trying to sort out her chaotic thoughts.
A moment later, she looked at Ryosuke and asked the question that had been lingering in her mind.
"Mr. Yasui, who exactly are you? And why are you so determined to kill Muzan? Even going so far as to seek out us demons?"
"Ms. Tamayo."
Ryosuke's voice was soft, with a hint of inquiry: "Do you think that killing Muzan will bring peace to the world and make it a better place from now on?"
Tamayo was slightly taken aback.
This question is too direct and too pointed.
She shook her head very gently.
Ryosuke laughed: "You've lived longer than me, so you must see things more clearly than I do."
"Sometimes people are more terrifying than demons. Even if Muzan is killed, the tragedies in the world will not decrease. This is the state of the world today, and it is an unchangeable fact."
She agreed with Ryosuke's statement.
There has never been a peaceful world.
Tamayo lived for hundreds of years and watched for hundreds of years.
She has seen too many well-dressed beasts, and she has also seen souls who still maintain their kindness and brilliance in despair.
War, famine, plague, the greed and infighting of the human heart...
These things will never disappear, they will never stop.
The line between good and evil has always been blurred.
Just as the world is never simply black and white, but rather a gray area in between.
Ryosuke's voice suddenly changed: "Muzan's existence allows evil in this world to continue, to be twisted and amplified."
"Because of him, those damned villains have gained immortality, possessed greater power, and persecuted humanity even more recklessly."
"Because of him, some good people were also forced to become bad people."
Zhu Shi's delicate body trembled.
Ryosuke softened his voice: "Ms. Tamayo should know this very well, but you are brave, and also gentle and kind."
Zhu Shi nodded slightly.
Yes, she was tormented by illness and saw Muzan on her deathbed.
He promised to cure her illness, deceiving and tempting her.
However, after becoming a demon, Tamayo's insane hunger led her to commit irreparable sins and bear a blood debt she could never forgive herself for.
As memories flooded back, Tamayo instinctively clutched her chest, her eyes reddening.
Ryosuke sighed softly, his voice filled with sorrow.
"This is why I want to kill Muzan; I want to sever the root of this evil."
"While I cannot guarantee that doing so will make the world a better place, nor will it bring heaven down."
"But at least this way people can go out at night without worrying about monsters lurking in the dark!"
"To reduce the tragedies in the world!"
"It can spare those who could have lived a peaceful life the pain of losing their families and loved ones!"
Tamayo stared blankly at the boy in front of her.
Her tightly wound heartstrings suddenly trembled.
Ryosuke also looked at her, his tone gentle:
“Miss Tamayo, sometimes people are ghosts, wearing human skin and doing ghostly things. And you, although you are ghosts, are more like humans than many others.”
Tamayo could no longer contain herself.
Ryosuke's last words were like a key, unlocking the floodgates of her long-frozen emotions.
Four hundred years of loneliness, regret, struggle, the pain of being misunderstood, the despair of being seen as an outsider...
At that moment, the boy whispered his thoughts.
He said she was like a human!
These few simple words carried immense weight for her! They represented the recognition she had been desperately seeking!
Tears streamed down her pale cheeks.
Just then, the door opened.
Yushiro, holding a tea tray, stood stiffly at the door, startled out of the drawing.
He glared at Ryosuke, all his previous resentment and anger erupting.
"You bastard! What did you do to Lady Tamayo?!"
Yushiro rushed towards Ryosuke without regard for anything else.
"Yushiro!"
Zhu Shi suddenly looked up, her face still wet with tears, and her voice fell coldly.
"Don't talk to Mr. Ryosuke like that!"
Chapter 14 Our Paths Are the Same
The world is quiet.
Yushiro was dumbfounded.
Mr. Ryosuke? !
I was just making a cup of tea, how did I get involved with Mr. Ryosuke?!
That demon hunter bastard who just stepped on me like I was trash and cut off my arm!
Miss Tamayo, actually, actually...
As we all know, in everyday life, calling someone by their surname and calling them by their given name conveys a different level of relationship and recognition.
Yushiro's vision went black, and countless images flashed uncontrollably through his mind.
That bastard demon slayer approached Lady Tamayo with a fake smile, Lady Tamayo responded gently, and that bastard's hands and feet began to wander...
No--!!!
Lady Tamayo wouldn't do that!
How dare that filthy demon hunter! By what right?!
"Yushiro!"
Tamayo's voice rang out again, with a sigh: "Put down the tea, then go out."
A tremendous sense of grievance and bewilderment surged within Yushiro's chest.
"Lord Jushi..."
Yushiro's voice was dry and trembling, filled with an incredulous accusation.
Zhu Shi repeated, her tone leaving no room for negotiation.
Yushiro's lips trembled a few times.
He glared at Ryosuke, then stiffly bent down to place the tea tray on the low table and walked out.
A subtle silence fell over the Japanese-style room.
"I apologize for making you laugh, Mr. Ryosuke."
Tamayo nodded slightly in apology: "Yushiro... he was just too worried about me."
"Understood, their loyalty is commendable."
Ryosuke nodded, his gaze sweeping over the closed door: "He's just not very bright and gets easily impulsive."
Tamayo: "..."
She decided to skip the topic.
"I agree to the cooperation you just mentioned."
Tamayo's voice became solemn: "It is my lifelong wish to develop a drug that can turn demons back into humans. If one day I can truly succeed in delivering a fatal blow to Muzan, I, Tamayo, will not hesitate to die ten thousand times."
