Chapter 1953 - 513: The Magician at the End of World War II
Ramos and Kaka stood still.
Even Inzaghi didn’t step back.
Only the Young Master took a step back and immediately stopped his movements.
Huang Kaiwen pressed directly on the button marked ’death,’ because he felt that Rommel’s character couldn’t be that cautious.
Everyone’s breathing became noticeably more rapid.
Even Huang Kaiwen felt cold sweat running down his back.
If Rommel had deployed a biochemical weapon, they might all meet their end here.
They should have prepared hazmat suits.
It seemed like an eternity had passed.
Accompanied by the noise of gears and machinery, the rock in front of them split to the sides.
"Kevin, I love you to death!"
Inzaghi shouted and rushed in.
Kaka and Ramos followed him in.
After locating the switch, they actually managed to light up the room.
Surprisingly, after so many years, the original circuitry was still operational.
Huang Kaiwen noticed Young Master still standing there and asked, "What’s wrong, Chris?"
"I’m sorry, Uncle Kevin."
The Young Master said with red eyes, "I didn’t mean to."
"It’s nothing."
Huang Kaiwen ruffled his hair and said, "I asked you to step back. They are not good role models. If we all die here, no one would know where we’ve gone."
"Really?"
The Young Master looked up and asked timidly.
"Of course."
Huang Kaiwen put an arm around his neck and said, "So, the next time I tell you to retreat, make sure you move to a safe place, at least someone can spread the word or call for help, understand?"
"I understand, Uncle Kevin!"
The Young Master nodded.
"Let’s go, if we’re late, Filippo might have taken all the good stuff."
Huang Kaiwen patted Young Master’s back and said.
The two of them walked in together.
This was clearly an auxiliary command post that the Germans had carved out of the mine. The furnishing inside was simple, all war-related equipment.
This resembled the style of the Little Mustache.
The Wolf’s Lair, Little Mustache’s command post, also had a simple style, with no luxurious comforts.
Huang Kaiwen briefly glanced at the items on the table, uncertain if the radio equipment could still be used.
"Kevin, the treasure doesn’t seem to be here."
Ramos walked over and said.
This temporary command post wasn’t small, yet it wouldn’t take long to search its 100-plus square meters.
"Have you checked for hidden doors or something similar?"
Huang Kaiwen asked.
"Ricardo and Filippo are looking."
Ramos said, looking a bit worried at Huang Kaiwen.
Mostly, he didn’t want to disappoint Huang Kaiwen.
"Don’t worry about those things. It’s fine if it’s not here; after all, we already have plenty of money."
Huang Kaiwen said with a smile.
Ramos nodded energetically in agreement.
"Kevin, come over here, I’ve found something!"
Inzaghi suddenly shouted.
Huang Kaiwen and Ramos immediately headed towards the room where Inzaghi was.
"Look, this is a cipher station."
Inzaghi pointed at the table and said, "I found a gap in the table and tried to locate the mechanism. I felt a lever behind the bookcase and the table split apart."
Huang Kaiwen looked at Inzaghi, half crying and half laughing.
Is this guy just lucky, or simply fortunate?
To find such an important clue with ease.
"What’s the code? Could it be his wife’s or son’s name?"
Kaka speculated.
Because there were no numbers on the cipher station, that’s why Kaka suggested this.
Huang Kaiwen tapped the table with his finger in thought.
Although this cipher station didn’t seem as dangerous as those three buttons outside.
Generally, these things, if not booby-trapped, would have a self-destruct mechanism, so they wouldn’t have many chances.
Huang Kaiwen thought for a moment and entered "Long live The Third Reich" in German, but the room had no reaction.
"Could it be that phrase?"
Kaka said uncertainly, "Hi, XXX?"
"How could it be that simple?"
Inzaghi retorted.
However, Huang Kaiwen’s eyes lit up and he directly entered what Kaka had said.
Sure enough.
The table transformed once again.
With a clatter of machinery, the entire table sank, and a stone pillar rose from the side of the table.
"What is this for?"
The Young Master asked.
"Turn off the lights."
Huang Kaiwen said.
Seeing the pillar, Huang Kaiwen remembered a cartoon.
After Ramos turned off the lights, Huang Kaiwen shone his flashlight at the top of the pillar.
"Nothing seems to happen, though?"
Inzaghi said.
At this moment, after continuously adjusting the direction, the pillar reflected a pattern on the wall!!!
Huang Kaiwen looked at the wall with satisfaction.
Thank you, tumble dryer!
"Is this a map?"
Kaka asked.
"Yes."
Huang Kaiwen answered.
"How did you do that, Uncle Kevin?"
The Young Master asked.
Inzaghi stretched his neck, very curious about this.
"It’s a simple device similar to a projector, like the cinema projectors you’ve seen in films, like ’Cinema Paradiso.’
Huang Kaiwen explained.
When I watched ’Magic Kaito,’ I was curious if the scene where the photo is projected through a glass could be realized.
Later, I found out it’s the same principle as a projector.
"Is it that simple?"
Inzaghi asked in disbelief.
"It really is that simple."
Huang Kaiwen said with a smile.
"Then this map..."
Inzaghi asked uncertainly.
Huang Kaiwen nodded and said, 「It should be. As I suspected, the items were hidden inside one of the U-boats!」
