Darth Kars opened his eyes.
Instead of white sclera, his red pupils were surrounded by a black background, kind of like Kai's cursed transformation upon using Murasame's Little War Horn skill.
His hair was as wild as the swaths of the broken trees under his head — curly brown, with a hint of crispiness about it.
His face was almost like looking at an upside-down pentagon.
His skin had such a tone of bronze that it almost looked black, with a distinct shine about it.
Then there was his entire body at large.
If one looked from above, almost from the highest point of the Forest Vault's faux sky, then one would be hard-pressed to tell Darth Kars' appearance apart from that of Berserker of Fate Bubble, with no hint of logic in his gaze, but only pure madness.
That person couldn't be farther from the truth, though.
Because Darth Kars, despite his enormous body spanning hundreds of miles, had a mind that bordered on being labeled as Artificial Intelligence.
There was one more thing that stood out about him, though, especially if one continued to look at him from the same height.
It was the sight of his body…
Darth Kars was missing both his arms and a leg!
There was no blood. Nor was there any sign of mutilation, gore, or anything else. It was as if he had lost his limbs thousands of years ago, and the wounds had healed since then.
Suddenly, as if challenging that very observation, the ground pressed under Darth Kars' massive body squirmed.
Thousands of tons of flesh came sprouting from the ground like red-black geysers.
Streams of that flesh detached themselves in numbers reaching hundreds of thousands, going for his shoulders and the underside of his torso, where his leg had been missing.
In only a few moments, his missing arms and leg began outlining themselves.
By the time the last strips of flesh left the ground, Darth Kars had already regained his missing limbs.
Now, once again, he occupied half the Forest Vault, leisurely lying on the ground with his limbs sprawled in four directions, his eyes planted on the Vault's faux sky.
This sky used to be blue, he remembered.
Only an hour ago, this god-forsaken place's sky used to be the only thing that was keeping him entertained.
Now, black and gray clouds of ash had blanketed the entire blue sky, thick pillars of lightning CRACKLING from horizon to horizon.
And its reason…
Darth Kars' red pupils shifted, as he felt too lazy to move his entire head.
Only two hands away in the distance, he saw a massive mushroom cloud of fire, rising higher and higher, becoming one with the black and gray clouds.
That was not something he had expected from a puny 8th Floor Contestant.
In the last six hundred years, he couldn't remember the time when he had to use more than one finger to crush the pride of someone from 3rd Set.
Low, Mid, High, Top… these labels didn't matter to him anymore.
As long as a Contestant hadn't ascended to the 11th Floor, Darth Kars considered all levels the same.
Of course, if it had been the Five-Crowned Prince, then it would have been a different matter.
At first, as much as Darth Kars had been disappointed by Red's decision to send a puny proxy to test the grounds within the Forest Vault, he had also been somewhat relieved.
Because that had also given him more time to rest, to keep lying comfortably in this place.
But now…
Should he just get up and end it as fast as he could? Darth Kars contemplated.
Then, he could go back to lying comfortably, instead of being pestered by this fly, right?
But…
Even if it was only to swat a fly, it still needed considerable effort.
Darth Kars frowned at the very thought of having to move, only to find that it wasn't as comfortable as before after lying down again.
That had happened to him once, he remembered.
And for him to still remember it meant that, if it happened again, he would keep on regretting his decision to get up just yet.
"Ah…" Darth Kars grumbled at the sick thought, his voice perfectly melting into the RUMBLE of the nuclear-like explosion.
Fine.
Just one more time.
Puny or not, this fly was still a member of White Serpent Pirates.
Perhaps, like himself, the Five-Crowned Prince had gathered some extraordinary individuals around him?
He should have gone through the info Hyperspace Raiders had shared with him while assigning the mission, Darth Kars thought.
But… it had all felt so… boring.
Anyway, one more time.
So, letting out a storm-like breath, Darth Kars closed his eyes.
In the next moment, both his arms, legs, and chunks of torso — disintegrated, seeping into the earth like droplets of blood on an olive shirt.
…
Far into the distance, Meg saw an amazing event.
It was happening beyond the explosion created by over a million paper bombs going off together.
The same mountain range that seemed to have disappeared before had reappeared at some point in time.
Perhaps the Beast Waves were related to the mountain range, which, in turn, was related to the 12th Floor Contestant?
With the disparity between her and the enemy's Perception, it was hard to tell.
However, what happened next confirmed her doubts in a snap of her fingers.
Right as she was looking at it, the mountain range vanished once again, crumbling into millions of pieces.
And then, after only a few moments, the ground shook.
It shook like it had never before… like the entire Vault had come alive!
Meg's face paled suddenly.
She had thought that losing so many summons would have made a dent in enemy's strategy, but… could he literally summon an infinite number of them?!
As if that thought itself wasn't dreadful enough, a shadow fell over Meg.
From the horizons on either side of her to the space between the earth and the ashy clouds above in front of her, a blanket of beasts appeared, their number — uncountable!
Meg's heart sank.
It seemed she would need to go all out much sooner than she'd planned.
So, just as the final Beast Wave came for her, hoping to drown her in its ROAR…
… Meg took out three Pokeballs and flung them out, calling out all cards!
